Objective: To explore the association between the severity of coronary artery and cognitive function in CHD(Coronary heart disease)patients.Method: 262 CHD patients who firstly diagnosed by CAG(coronary angiography)and 125 controls patients were recruited from The People's Hospital Of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region during January 2017 and June 2017 in this study, cognitive function were assessed by TICS(The Telephone Interview for Cognitive Status).Study individuals were divided into cognitive dysfuction group and control by TICS score(TICS score ? 33 was defined as MCI(mild cognitive impairment). All cases were performed CAG and coronary artery severity was evaluated by Gensini score. Results: There was significant difference of TICS score between CHD group and control group [(33±7)vs(30±6),p<0.05].Within CHD patients,SAP(stable angina)group with a mean TICS of 31±7 and a mean gensini scores of 32±27,ACS(acute coronary syndrome)group with a mean TICS of 28±6 and a mean gensini scores of 79±45,the differences werestatistically significant(p < 0.05).Within the CHD patients,Logistic regression analysis was used to assess the association between the severity of coronary artery and cognitive function, adjusting for gender, age, education, hypertension, diabetes, smoking, drinking, uric acid, total cholesterol(TC),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),creatinine clearance ratea(CCR),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF).The Logistic results indicated that the severity of coronary artery was related to the cognitive impairment [ OR = 1.75(95 % CI :1.22-2.52),p<0.01].Conclusion: Cognitive function in CHD patients is lower than control group. The severity of coronary artery was positive related to the cognitive impairment. The severity of coronary artery may be used to predict cognitive function.
