Objective To observe the clinical features and surgical options of young people with myopic rhegmatogenous retinal detachment in different age stages. Methods Young patients were divided into group A(17-28 years)and group B(29-40 years),according to the patient's eye underwent pars plana vitrectomy or scleral buckling surgery.Follow-up to the eyes after the operation was stable, the clinical features, the choice of surgical approach and postoperative results of the two groups were compared and analyzed. Results The retinal breaks were mainly round in group A,and horseshoe-shaped in group B.The difference was statistically significant(P = 0.009);In group A,the subretinal detachment without affecting the macular was the main part, while in group B,all the retinal detachment affecting the macular was the main. The difference were statistically significant(P = 0.000,0.025).Group A was mainly treated with scleral buckling, while group B was mainly treated by pars plana vitrectomy. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P =0.000);Last 3 months, the best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)between the two groups was improved after operation, and the difference was statistically significant.Postoperative single retinal reattachment rate, best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)between the two groups were not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusions Myopia causes progressive liquefaction of the vitreous body in young people and the degree of retinal detachment increases day by day.For young people with myopic rhegmatogenous retinal detachment, the choice of surgical method depends on the condition of the disease, and scleral buckling operation may be preferred or tried if possible...
