PAK1(P21-actived kinase 1)is a member of serine/threonine kinase family, expressed widely in mammalian, especially in the central nervous system cells.PAK1 has been thought to be associated with many neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease(AD),Parkinson's disease(PD),Multiple Sclerosis(MS).In addition, there are lots of papers that highlight the role of PAK1 in periphery inflammation in relation to NADPH oxidase activation. But there are no report about relationship between PAK1 and neuroinflammation. In this study,we found that genetically or pharmacologically inhibition of PAK1 could supress COX2 expression level after inflammation induction through p38MAPK signaling, which indicates that PAK1 also can regulate neuroinflammmation.Since neuroinflammmation is related to many neurodegenerative diseases,so our finding may provide a new target for therapy of neurodegenerative diseases.
