Objective1.To investigate the urban-rural differences in the prevalence of metabolic syndrome(MS)and its influencing factors in zhuang population of Nanning, for providing targeted data for the prevention and treatment of metabolic syndrome.2.To analyzez the relationship between metabolic syndrome(MS)and the incidence of type 2 diabetes(T2DM),for providing relevant epidemiological data for the prevention and treatment of diabetes.MethodsCross-sectional study was conducted in 1946 residents 20-70 years old or older from Changtang,Liuxu,Yongning of Nanning.Self-designed questionnaires were used to collect data on demographic information, family annual income, family disease history, smoking history, drinking history, exercise history, and dietary status of the subjects.Height, weight, waist circumference, and blood pressure were measured. At the same time, blood samples before and after meal were collected for laboratory testing.1.To study the urban-rural differences in the prevalence of MS,analyze thethe basic features of the study subjects according to regional stratification and the general influencing factors of MS by single-factor analysis.Secondly, compare the prevalence of MS in rural and urban Zhuang populations after gendere stratification and age stratification.Thirdly, compare the detection rates of MS components in urban and rural areas. Finally, two classification unconditional logistic regression model was used to analyze the influencing factors of MS.2.To study the relationship between MSand T2 DM,analyze the general influencing factors of the subjects by single-factor analysis, and then explore the relationship between MS and its components with T2 DM by single-factor analysis after gendere stratification. Finally, two classification unconditional logistic regression model was used to analyze the relationship between MS components and T2 DM,which was adjusted by meaningful factors in the general influencing factor analysis.Results1.The prevalence and influencing factors of MS were as follows:(1)The total prevalence of MS was 18.4%.The crude prevalence rate and standardized rate of MS in rural areas were higher than those of urban areas.(2)After gendere stratification, the prevalence of MS in rural areas was higher than that in urban areas in women and men. After age stratification, the prevalence of MS in rural population was lower than that in urban areas, while in middle-aged and elderly population, the prevalence of MS in rural areas was higher than that in urban areas.(3)The prevalences of central obesity, high blood pressure, high TG,high FPG and low HDL-C in rural areas were higher than those in urban areas. The highest proportion was central obesity(55.1%)in rural areas. The highestproportion was high blood pressure(33.7%)in rural areas.(4)With two classification unconditional logistic regression model, gender, geography, family history, once drinking, drinking related to MS(P<0.05).The OR values were 2.627?2.377?1.865?1.652 and 1.611,respectively.2.The correlation between MSand T2 DM were as follows:(1)The overall prevalence of T2 DM was 9.4%,with a prevalence of 9.2%for men and 9.5% for women.(2)In the general population and female population, there were statistically significant differences in the detection rates of MS five components in the non-T2 DM and T2 DM groups. In the male population, there were statistically significant differences in the detection rates of hypertension, high TG,and high FPG in the non-T2 DM group and the T2 DM group.(3)With two classification unconditional logistic regression model, high TG,low HDL-C and high FPG were associated with T2 DM among the total population(P<0.05).respectively.After gendere stratification,in the female population, central obesity, high FPG and low HDL-C were associated with T2DM(P<0.05),and only high FPG was associated with T2 DM among the male population(P<0.001).Conclusions1.The prevalence rate of MS in rural Zhuang population in Nanning was higher than that in urban areas.Gender, geography, family history and drinking related to MS.2.The prevalence of T2 DM in the Zhuang population in Nanning was9.4%.Central obesity, high TG,low HDL-C and high FPG were associated with T2 DM.
