| Object: This study compared safety and efficacy between Solitaire AB and LVIS/LVIS jr stents in stent assisted coiling of wide-necked intracranial aneurysms.Method: From January 2015 to June 2017,total 182 patients with 185 wide-necked intracranial aneurysms were coiled assisted by Solitaire AB and LVIS/LVIS jr stents.Clinical outcomes,procedure-related complications and angiographic results were analyzed retrospectively.Result: A total of 125 patients with 127 aneurysms received Solitaire AB stents and 57 patients with 58 aneurysms were treated with LVIS/LVIS jr stents. The immediately complete or near-complete occlusion rate was 93.7%in Solitaire AB stents group and 96.55%in LVIS/LVIS jr stents group, with no significant difference between the two group(P=0.510).Procedure-related complications occurred in 11.2%(5 hemorrhage,7 thromboembolic events,2 migration of coils)in the Solitaire AB stents group whereas 3.51% of patients(2 thromboembolic events)in the LVIS/LVIS jr stents group. No statistical significant differences in complications(P=0.700)and favorable clinical outcomes(m RS 0-2)(P=0.552)were found between 2 groups.A greater progressive thrombosis was found in the LVIS/LVIS jr stents group compared with the Solitaire AB stents group(40.74% vs.17.65%,P = 0.033).Conclusion: Both types of stents for treatment of wide-necked intracranial aneurysms were safe and effective.Compared with Solitaire AB stents,LVIS/LVIS jr stents may achieve greater progressive thrombosis rate. |
