Objective: To study the vocational nursing students' characteristics of emotional intelligence and Self-direted learning ability,and to explore the influence factors of emotional intelligence and the Self-direted learning ability,and to determine the relationship between the emotional intelligence and Self-direted learning ability.Methods: Selectd 329 vocational nursing students as reseach samples from Guangzhou Health Science College,the students were texted by the tools of the EIS which was translated by Caikang,Wang and the measure instrument of ability of Self-regulated Learning of nursing undergraduates which was compiled by Xiyan,Li.The statistical software SPSS22.0 was used to analyze the collected data.The statistical methods included statistical description,t-test,one-way ANOVA,correlation analysis,regression analysis and so on.Conclusion: 1.The general level of emotional intelligence in vocational nursing students is not high,the middle level is the majority,and the low level and the high level are less.Factors of emotional intelligence were unbalanced,ability of emotion utilization was the bestest,while the ability of emotional perception was the worest.The emotional intelligence was influenced by gender and cadre or not.And male student s' and cadre s' emotional intelligence was better than that of ordinary nursing students.2.Vocational nursing students' Self-direted learning ability was weak in all,and it was influenced by gender,only-child or not,urban or rural,cadre or not and so on.3.There is a clear positive correlation between the emotional intelligence and Self-direted learning ability of nursing students.The higher the emotional intelligence of nursing students,the higher their Self-direted learning ability.4.Emotional intelligence have positive predictive effect on Self-direted learning ability,and nursing educators should pay attention to the improvement of emotional intelligence and Self-direted learning ability of students in nursing.5.In addition to professional knowledge and skills training,nursing educators should pay more attention to various ways to improve the emotional intelligence level of vocational nursing students,thus improving their Self-direted learning ability.
