Objective(s):.This study compared with the safety and effectiveness,intra-operative requirements of anaesthesia and postoperative analgesia of ultrasound guided suprascapular nerve block with interscalene brachial plexus block in shoulder arthroscopy. Methods:In this study,40 cases of hospitalized patients who rotator cuff injury,40 ASA I or II adult patients undergoing unilateral shoulder arthroscopic surgery were randomised into suprascapular nerve blocks group(group SSNB,n=20)and interscalene brachial plexus block(group ISB,n=20).Two group with 20 ml of 0.375%ropivacaine undering the guidance of ultrasound before induction of general anaesthesia. The primary outcome. The vital vapacity before and one day after surgery, extubation time,VAS scores at awake time and 6h,12h,24h,48h after surgery; The forearn modified Bromage scale(MBS)score were recorded at 12h after surgery.total opiods consumption, the patients’ satisfaction rate and other complications were recorded.Pain was assessed using visual analogue scale and verbal pain scale scores and time to first rescue analgesia was noted. We used Student’s t test and Chi-square/Fisher Exact test and used a statistical software to compare data. Results:In the present study,The primary outcome The patients in group SSNB significantly earlier than group ISB(P<0.01);The group SSNB extubated significantly earlier than group ISB(P<0.05);The mean vital capacity 24 one day after surgery significantly decreased in group ISB(P<0.05);The amount of trmadol consumption was lower at 48hours after surgery(P<0.05)mg;The forearn(MBS)score、VAS score and the patients’ satisfaction in group SSNB were significantly higher than than group ISB(P<0.05);There was no significant difference in side effects beteween two groups. Conclusion(s):Interscalene brachial plexus block and suprascapular nerve block combined with general anesthesia can improve the quality of anaesthesia during Shoulder arthroscopic surgery,Selective suprascapular nerve block can provide effective analgesia for shoulder arthroscopy without impacting the vital capacity; It helps the patient’s life signs be stable,Shortening the time of tube extubation at the same time, reducing the amount of postoperative analgesic drug use and to promote early activity of patients and improve patient satisfaction.
