Objective:To investigate the association between VMAT2 polymorphisms rs363371 and rs363324 and depression in Han Chinese PD population. Methods:A total 102 Han Chinese PD were recruitmented from Geratic neurology department of the first affiliated hospital of kunming medical university;then divided into PD with depression and PD without depression according to 17-HAMD;DNA were extracted from the peripheral leukocytes then two SNPs were genotyped with ligase detection;Logistic regression was used to test the risk factors associate with depression in PD.Result:The incidence of depression in PD patients was 43.1%;The genotype AA at rs363371 decrease the risk of depression in PD(OR 0.22,59%CI 0.07-0.75,P=0.015);the evaluation of UP3 increase the risk of depression in PD(OR 1.08,59%CI 1.02-1.15,P=0.009);PD duration increase the risk of depression in PD(OR 1.15,59%CI 1.01-1.31,P=0.038);The genetic polymorphism of rs363324 did not increase the risk of depression in PD;There was no significant correlation between gender, age, age of onset and HY classification(p>0.05).Conclusion:1.In our study, the incidence of depression in PD patients was 43.1%,similar to that reported in the literature;2.The AA genotype of the rs363371 of VMAT2 reduced the risk of depression in the Chinese han population;3.The UP3 score is an independent risk factor for PD combined with depression;4.The patient’s course is a risk factor for PD combined with depression;5.Our study did not find that rs363324 gene polymorphism was associated with the risk of depression associated with PD;6.There was no significant correlation between the gender, age, onset age,HY classification and the risk of depression; The current results still need to be confirmed by multi-center and large sample studies.
