Objective:To describe the physical activity status of middle-aged and old people in part of rural areas of Jilin province.Analysing the association between physical activity and the risk of metabolic syndrome developing and the level changes of metabolic syndrome components,in order to provide reliable basis for the prevention and control of metabolic syndrome. Methods:This study was based on International Chronic Disease Cohort.People over 45years old were picked as subjects.Baseline data were obtained through on-site questionnaires, physical examinations and biochemical tests, followed by annual follow-up to observe the incidence of metabolic syndrome in the study subjects.Epidata3.1 and eclipse 12007 software were used for data sorting, and data analysis was conducted through SPSS24.0.The incidence of MS is expressed as the incidence density, and the continuity variables are compared by t-test,ANOVA,or non-parametric test, and the?~2 test is used for comparison between categorical variables.Cox proportional hazards regression model was used to analyze the relationship between physical activity and risk of metabolic syndrome. The relationship between total physical activity and changes in waist circumference, blood pressure, blood glucose, triglycerides, and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels was analyzed by multiple linear regression.Results:1.The average follow-up of this study was 7.5 years, with 244 patients with metabolic syndrome, including 99 males and 145 females. The incidence density of total population metabolic syndrome was 3.45/100 person-years,the incidence density of male population was 3.13/100person-years,and the incidence density of female population was 3.72/100person-years.2.The results of univariate Cox regression analysis showed that the age, cultural level, smoking, sleep duration and BMI of male population were statistically significant(P<0.05),and the age, sleep duration and BMI of female population were significantly correlated with the occurrence of MS(P<0.05).3.After adjusting the factors of age,BMI,systolic blood pressure in male population, the risk of MS of total physical activity“34.16-49.00(MET?h/d)”group was 0.341 times higher than“<29.30(MET?h/d)”group(P=0.001),the risk of MS of“49.00(MET?h/d)”group was 0.343 times than“<29.30(MET?h/d)”group(P=0.001).In female population, adjusting the factors of age,BMI and sleeping time, the risk of MS of total physical activity“37.00~50.88(MET?h/d)”group was 0.368times higher than“<31.00 MS(MET?h/d)”group(P<0.001),the risk of MS of“>50.88(MET?h/d)”group was 0.300 times higher than“<31.00(MET?h/d)”group(P<0.001).4.The multiple linear regression analysis showed that after adjusting related factors,an increase of one standard deviation(25.66MET?h/d)in total physical activity of the male population was significantly associated with0.348mmHg lower in systolic blood pressure,0.479mmHg lower in diastolic blood pressure,0.552cm lower in WC,0.008mmol/L lower in TG and 0.041mmol/L higher in HDL-C.An increase of one standard deviation(28.21MET*h/d)in total physical activity of the female population was significantly associated with0.339mmHg lower in systolic blood pressure,0.713mmHg lower in diastolic blood pressure,0.452cm lower in WC and0.039mmol/L higher in HDL-C.5.In female population, after adjusting the factors of age,BMI,WC and diastolic blood pressure, the risk of MS in decrease group of PA is 1.702 times higher than increase group(P=0.023).Conclusion:1.The incidence of metabolic syndrome among middle-aged and elderly people in some rural areas of Jilin province was at a high level.2.With the increase of total physical activity, the risk of metabolic syndrome of middle-aged and elderly people in rural areas of Jilin province is decreasing.3.In male population, physical activity positively correlated with changes in HDL-C was negatively correlated with changes in systolic pressure, diastolic blood pressure, waist circumference and TG.The total physical activity of female population was negatively correlated with systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and waist circumference, and was positively correlated with changes of HDL-C.4.In the female population, compared to those with increased physical activity, the risk of metabolic syndrome was increased in persons with reduced physical activity;whereas in the male population, changes in physical activity had no significant effect on the incidence of metabolic syndrome.
