| On the global scale,suicide is a serious health and social problem.For 15-29 year old people,suicide has become a topic of public concern because more and more people choose end their life by suicide.Therefore,detection of suicidal potential earlier and intervention for individuals with suicidal tendency are particularly important.To explore the effect of negative life events on suicidal ideation,and to reduce the suicide rate of college students as far as possible,and to find the factors that affect suicide ideation,to study the basic psychological needs and psychache as a medium variable to explore the chain mediating role of basic psychological needs and psychological pain.In this study,students in three colleges were selected as the subjects.1179 college students were investigated by the life events scale,the basic psychological needs scale,the psychache scale and the suicide ideation scale.The basic psychological needs of the college students,the psychache level,and the experience of negative life events and the idea of suicidal ideation were investigated.Correlation analysis,structural equation modeling and so on were used to explore the relationship between them.The results showed that:(1)340 subjects reported they have suicidal ideation,with a report rate of 28%.There were significant differences in the scores of basic psychological needs,negative life events and psychache compared with those without suicidal ideation.(2)There exists interrelated relationship between negative life events,basic psychological needs,psychological distress and suicidal ideation.(3)the positive relationships between negative life events and suicidal ideation can be mediated via basic psychological needs fulfillment and the positive relationships between negative life events and suicidal ideation can be mediated via psychache.(4)basic psychological needs and psychache play a chain mediated role between negative life events and suicidal ideation.The findings reveal the relationship between negative life events and suicidal ideation and its internal mechanisms,which can provide useful enlightenment for suicide prevention. |
