The Clinacanthus nutans belongs to Clinacanthus Nees of Diclipterinae Nees,Acanthacea.Clinacanthus nutans usually as herb to curing the fever,poisoning by snake and insect and constipation.Meanwhile,our team also found this herb has the ability of anticancer.In this dissertation futhers studies its chemical composition and bioactivity,and search for the active ingredient of the plant,to estabilish material knowledge for the development and utilization of the plant.32 compouds were isolated from Clinacanthus nutans by means of silica gel column chromatography,LH-20,ODS,HPLC et al.The sructures of compounds were identified by spertrum technology,in terms of NMR and MS,as well as compare with literature data.Thirty-two compounds(1-32)were isolated and identified from the extract of ethanol.These include 19 lignin compounds(1-19),4 phenylglycosides(20-23),2 terpenoids(24,25),1 flavonoid(26),and 7 other compounds(27-32).Phenylglycoside compounds were first isolated from the plant.Compounds 2-6,13-19,21-23 and 30-32 were first isolated from the genus Clinacanthus.Anti-inflammatory activity of the lignin compounds of 13-19 and 21-23 was tested.The results showed that except compound 14,other compounds showed a certain anti-inflammatory activity under the concentration of 20 ?g/m L.Compounds 15 and 17 significantly inhibited the production of IL-6 at this concentration,and the inhibition rate was 48.5% and 47.7%,respectively.Antibacterial activity of 1,2,4,5,10-12 and 30-32 were also tested.Compounds 4 and 5 showed inhibitory activity on the M.tetagenus,B.cereus and S.albus,with the MIC values rang from 5 to 10 ?g/m L.Compounds 31 and 32 had selective inhibitory activity against S.aureus and S.albus,with the MIC values of 5 ?g/m L to 10 ?g/m L,respectively.Compound 10 had selective inhibitory activity on B.cereus and S.albus.The MIC value was 10 ?g/m L.In addition to the compound 11,12,30,there was inhibitory activity on S.albus,and the MIC value was 5 to 10?g/m L.The results of anti-tumor activity test showed that the inhibition ability of the ethyl acetate extract on tumor cells was weak.
