Objective To investigate the prevalence of depression and anxiety among new drug users in a drug rehabilitation center,and to provide the evidence for the government to make prevention measures.Methods According to the literatures to estimate the expected prevalence rate,calculate the sample size required for the survey.250 male new drug user from a drug rehabilitation center were recruited.Their general information,drug-related information were collected by self-made questionnaire,the Patient Health Questionnaire-9(PHQ-9),the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7(GAD-7)were used to evaluate depression,anxiety;the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Questionnaire(PISQ)was used to assess sleep quality;the Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS)was used to assess social support;and the Herth Hope Index Scale was used to assess the level of hope.Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the risk factors of depression and anxiety in new drug users.Spearsman correlation analysis was used to analyze the relationship between Herth hope index,social support and depression and anxiety.Results Of 250 male new drug users,the age range are from 17 to52 year old(mean age 30 year old),unmarried is 48.8%,under high school education is 76.0%,no fixed job is 42.8%.The positivedepression symptoms were 32.8%(82/250).The positive anxiety symptoms were 19.2%(48/250).Non-conditional Logistic regression analysis showed that the risk factors of depression were high drug intake every day(OR=3.179;95%CI=1.713-5.900)、depression before the first drug use(OR=2.388;95%CI=1.118-5.099)、bad sleep quality(OR=6.065;95%CI=3.309-11.116).Non-conditional Logistic regression analysis showed that the risk factors of anxiety were depression before the first drug use(OR=2.784,95%CI:1.278-6.067)、bad sleep quality(OR=4.633,95%CI:2.278-9.425)、 Marital status(OR=2.550,95%CI:1.179-5.514).People with lower social support were more likely suffer emotial probelems.Conclusion There is a high rate of depression and anxiety among new drug users in the rehabilitation center,and a intensive intervention should be carried out to prevent the depression and anxiety actively.
