Objectives Objective to explore the preventive effect of low dose Iron Dextral Oral Solution on iron deficiency anemia in infants at early stage and the effect of early iron deficiency on physical development in infants,so as to provide relevant clinical evidence for prevention and treatment of iron deficiency diseases in infants in Tangshan area. Methods 149 cases of 4 month old iron deficiency infants were selected from October 2015 to December 2016 at the Affiliated Hospital of North China University of Polytechnic University.Inform the family members about the benefits and risks of early iron treatment, and sign the informed consent and divide them into treatment group or control group according to their wishes. The treatment group was given dietary guidance while taking small dose of Iron Dextran Oral Solution, while the control group only received dietary guidance. All observation subjects were intervened and observed for 8 weeks. After that, the patients were followed up until 18 month old,and the children were followed up for 12 month old and 18 month old. After the end of the study, combined with the changes of the observation indexes after diagnosis and treatment, the indexes were statistically analyzed to determine the therapeutic effect. The related factors were analyzed during the study. Results 52 cases(39 cases in the experimental group and 13 cases in the control group)were dropped out in the research process, and 52 cases and 45 cases were actually completed in the experimental group and the control group respectively.1 During the observation period, the level of serum ferreting and the recovery rate of iron deficiency in the experimental group were significantly better than those in the control group, and the iron status in the experimental group was significantly improved(P<0.05),and there was no occurrence of iron deficiency anemia, the cure rate was 86.54%;The iron content of the control group was not obviously improved, even into the stage of iron deficiency anemia, the cure rate was 26.67%.2 Some of the children in the experimental group had slight nausea and vomiting during the treatment, and the incidence of adverse reactions was 11.54%.3There was no significant difference in body weight and body weight between two groups of children in different age groups during the observation period compared with the national standard(P <0.05).There was no significant difference in body weight and body weight between the two groups at different months of age(P <0.05).4The result of multiple factor Logistic regression analysis showed that the adverse effects were independent factors of exfoliated rate, and the rate of fall off in patients with nausea symptoms was significantly higher than that of the baseline group(no adverse reaction)(P<0.001).Conclusions Early iron deficiency has no significant effect on infant growth and development.Early iron treatment can effectively reduce the prevalence of IDA in early infants with iron deficiency, and has no significant effect on the growth and development of infants.
