As a special narrative,illness narrative is the meaning of people’s interpretation of illness and medical treatment.This article taking the illness narrative as the starting point,using the literature analysis,participation observation,and in-depth interview research methods to analyze the historical development and current status of medical and health in southwestern Hunan,learn more about the talking about the illness from patients with hypertension and their family members,doctors and other groups.In the context of social transformation and adjustment of medical policies,explore what factors influence and shape the narrative of the illness of hypertensive patients.Then discuss the meaning and role of pain narrative for hypertensive patients.Firstly,we will introduce the social context by sorting out the medical and health status and concept of the southwestern Hunan and the development process of the hypertensive patients.Secondly,a systematic presentation of the painful narrative of the doctor and the patient is presented: Illness narratives of both doctors and patients talked about the patient’s reaction in the face of hypertension and the resulting disorder,psychological and emotional changes and social alienation or closeness.Thirdly,we discussed how the narrative of hypertension in patients with hypertension in southwestern Hunan Province emerged: The narrative arises from the need for healing.personal experience of illness affects narratives,biomedical perspectives,and local medical theories and knowledge shaping narratives.The narrative of the illness of hypertensive patients is a collection of people’s medical knowledge,illness experience,and ideological values.The existence of illness narrative can deepen people’s understanding of illness and help patients to recognize themselves and understand others,which is of great significance in bridging the differences between doctors and patients.
