| Objective: In order to compare the efficacy of intrathecal injection with intravenous drugs and intravenous drugs alone in the treatment of acute NMOSD.Method: Twenty-eight patients with acute NMOSD were collected and divided into two groups. Both groups received conventional intravenous drugs. The study group was given intrathecal injection therapy for the first time. The two groups of patients were assessed with recurrence, the EDSS,ADL,and the total score of some EDSS subprojects at the time of admission and discharge. There were two groups which included double drug group and single drug group according to the number of introthecal drugs. The number of introthecal injections, the difference of the EDSS scores, some EDSS subprojects,ADL scores between admission and discharge were compared. Results: The EDSS score difference of the study group and the control group were statistically significant different. The EDSS score difference of the double drug group and the single drug group were statistically significant different. The recurrence rate of the control group was higher than that of the study group when the patient was treated within 6 months and after 18 months. Conclusion: Intrathecal injection with intravenous drugs may be better than intravenous drugs in improving the motor function and the degree of disability of patients with acute NMOSD,in which intrathecal double drugs may be better than single drugs. The recurrence rate of the control group may be higher than that of the study group within 6 months and after 18 months of treatment. |
