The mobidity of Type 2 diabetes mellitus and tumors is increasing year by year. They are important diseases threating human health and survival, they become major problems to be solved. It is known that type 2 diabetes mellitus and tumors are caused by the combination of genetic and environmental factors.Type 2 diabetes mellitus is associated with increasing risk of tumors, its mechanism is caused by hyerglycemia, hyperinsulinemia, insulin resistance,Insulin-like growth factor and so on.There are many common factors that influence type 2 diabetes mellitus and tumors.Gene mutation is one of the common factors, recent studies showed that genetic susceptibility of type 2 diabetes mellitus is closely related to the risk of tumors, such as: PPAR?2,IGF2BP2,TCF7L2,IRS,FTO,ADIPOQ.But the results of these studies are different in different ethnic groups. Therefore,it is very important to analyze the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus and tumors from genetic perspective for preventing and treating these diseases. The relationship between these genes with Type 2 diabetes mellitus and tumors was reviewed in our article.
