Objective: Through the evaluation of hyperbilirubinemia impact on the developmental level of children's intelligence To evaluate the effects of hyperbilirubinemia in children who has not bilirubin on intelligence development. Methods: A search was performed to collect studies evaluating the relationship between hyperbilirubinemia and children's mental development in VIP,Baidu literature,Cohrane Library,CNKI,ACP journal club,Pub Med,Wan Fang Data,Embase databases, then conduct a systemic review and Meta analysis. The search time is from the database to January 2016,keeping track of references, and including literature screening, data extraction, quality assessment, and use Rev Man5.3 software to conduct the Meta analysis. Results: 8 studies(5 cohort studies,3 case-control studies)with 698 patients were included. The meta-analysis show that the hyperbilirubinemia maybe have a abnormal neural behavior in various stages of follow-up,including neurobehavior, adaptability, sociolinguistic competence, social skills,MDI,and PDI.And they have a dose response relationship. After early childhood intervention,hyper-bilirubinemia' MDI and PDI have not different with the their peers.Conclusions:1 The hyperbilirubinemia maybe has been impacted on children's mental development before the bilirubin developmented.2 The effect of hyperbilirubinemia on intelligence development of infants and the levels of bilirubin showed marked significance as well a dose response.3 In clinical, the risk of hyperbilirubinemia can be reduced by early treatment intervention.
