Objective: To assess correlation and consistency of left ventricular volume and ejective fraction measured via echocardiography compared with cardiac magnetic resonance(CMR)imaging in heart failure patients in the real world. Methods: A total of 62 heart failure patients who underwent both echocardiography and CMR were retrospectively enrolled from September2015 to January 2018 in the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University.Echocardiographic values of LVEDV,LVESV,SV and LVEF were measured via M-mode Teichholz method or two-dimensional Simpson's method.CMR was performed by Philips Achieva 3.0T scanner, and balanced turbo field echo sequence was used to do cardiac cine scanning.Left ventricular volume and function parameters calculated by post-processing software were compared with echocardiographic results. Results: The values of LVEDV,LVESV,SV and LVEF measured via M-mode Teichholz method were significantly overestimated than those of CMR(P<0.05).The LVEDV,LVESV,SV and LVEF measured via M-mode Teichholz method were moderately correlated with CMR(r=0.489-0.673,P<0.05),and consistency between them were weak(ICC=0.287-0.553,P<0.05).The LVEDV,SV and LVEF values measured via two-dimensional Simpson's method were overestimated than CMR(P<0.05),but there was no statistical difference between LVESV(P>0.05).The correlation and consistency between LVEDV,LVESV,SV and LVEF measured via twodimensional Simpson's method and CMR were moderate to strong(r=0.669-0.881,P<0.05;ICC=0.465-0.879,P<0.05),and the limit of 95%consistency were acceptable in clinical practice. Conclusion: Two-dimensional echocardiography Simpson's method was more accurate in the evaluation of left ventricular volume and ejective fraction in patients with heart failure, and it was in good correlation and consistency with CMR,which could basically meet the clinical requirements. But the M-mode Teichholz method was not recommended to be used.
