Objective:To evaluate the clinical effect of splenectomy and azygous disconnection in the treatment of children with cavernous transformation of the portal vein.Methods:Statistics on 66 patients(39 males and 27 females)who underwent splenectomy and azygous disconnection in our hospital from April 2008 to December 2017.The patients with cavernous transformation of the portal vein were followed up for postoperative conditions.Results:The 66 cases of splenectomy and azygous disconnection were all performed successfully without any operative death,recover well and successfully discharged.Anemia and hypersplenism were significantly improved.After hospital discharge,66 cases were followed up by telephone,7 cases were missed due to telephone calls,26 cases suffered from postoperative rebleeding,24 cases were improved after conservative treatment,and 2 cases was externally treated after ligation without rebleeding occurred.Fifty children developed poor appetite,abdominal distension,and indigestion.All follow-up children had no other serious adverse reactions.Conclusion : Splenectomy and azygous disconnection is an ideal surgical method for an ideal surgical method for the treatment of cavernous transformation of the portal vein,its recent hemostatic effect is exact and can significantly improve children with hypersplenism.The main risks are postoperative rebleeding and portal hypertensive gastropathy.
