Objective: To investigate general situation, complications, primary treatment and multiple prognosis factors in extremely preterm infants(EP)of Children’s Hospital of Chongqing Medical University(CHCMU).Methods: Retrospective observational study about infants’ s general situation, common complications during hospitalization, primary treatment and outcome was performed on extremely preterm infants of CHCMU between January 2008 and December 2017.Results: Among the 90 extremely preterm infants, average gestational age was 188±7d,average birth weight was 1038±232g,17 infants discharged from the hospital after the condition was improved with the doctor’s advice,11 infants discharged without the doctor’s advice,2 infants transfered to other hospitals with the doctor’s advice after the improvement of the condition,55 infants abandoned treatment(26 infants abandoned because of severe complications),and 5 infants died during hospitalization.Common complications of the infants included neonatal respiratory distress syndrome(71.2%),periventricular-intraventricular hemorrhage(60%),neonatal sepsis(54.1%),bronchopulmonary dysplasia(41%),pulmonaryhemorrhage(37.7%),retinopathy of preterm infant(28.6%),neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis(22.8%).The median of discharge weight and the median time of hospitalization among infants whose condition was improved were 2020 g and 69 d respectively.Logistics regression analysis indicated that neonatal pulmonary hemorrhage influenced the prognosis of extremely preterm infants with statistical significance(OR=6.032,95%CI1.468-24.776,P=0.013).Conclusions: There is still low survival rate in extremely preterm infants, high rate of abandoning treatment with non-complication,and also high complication rate among survival infants.Neonatal pulmonary hemorrhage may be the important prognosis factor on extremely preterm infants.
