Abstract/Summary:
Objective To explore the correlation and comparison between oxidative stress and B-type natriuretic peptide(BNP)in the patients with maintenance hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, with a view to optimizing the treatment modality and scheme of patients with end-stage renal disease. Methods Sixty-four cases of patients with chronic renal disease(CKD)5 were selected in this study, including 33 patients with hemodialysis(18 males and 15 females),Average age(46.0 ±10.3);31 patients with peritoneal dialysis(15 males and 16 females),Average age(43.5±8.9);and 12 healthy people with normal urine test(7males and 5females),Average age(41.6±5.5).To three groups of patients, respectively,to record the general clinical indicators, such as gender, age, mean arterial pressure(MAP),body mass index(BMI),serum creatinine(Scr),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),hemoglobin(HB),albumin(ALB),total cholesterol(CHOL),blood calcium(Ca),phosphorus(P),etc. The oxidative stress indicators and BNP were measured respectively in the three groups, and xanthine oxidase method was used for determination of serum levels of SOD(superoxide dismutase,SOD)、sulfur and barbituric acid reaction method was used for determination of serum levels of MDA(maleic dialde-hyde,MDA),BNP was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)method. Then to analyze the relationship between oxidative stress state and different groups of BNP and clinical indicators.Result(1)The serum MDA and BNP of patients with chronic kidney disease(CKD)were significantly higher than those in healthy controls, and the SOD level was significantly lower than that in healthy controls.(2)The oxidative stress index of patients with maintenance hemodialysis was higher than that of peritoneal dialysis patients, and SOD was lower than that of peritoneal dialysis patients.(3)There was a significant negative correlation between BNP and SOD in hemodialysis group and significant positive correlation with MDA.(4)In peritoneal dialysis group BNP was negatively correlated with SOD and was positively correlated with MDA.Conclusions The high oxidative stress state in patients with maintenance hemodialysis and maintenance peritoneal dialysis showed the imbalance of oxidation andantioxidant system. The BNP level of maintenance hemodialysis and maintenance peritoneal dialysis patients was significantly increased, indicating that there was a high capacity load state. And two groups of patients with BNP level was significantly associated with SOD and MDA level, indicates that in patients with maintenance hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis its load capacity is closely related to oxidative stress state, the two may be complicit in occurrence and development of cardiovascular events.
