The Change Of Water Absorption And Hardness After Water Absorption Of Resin Adhesive Materials

Objective:To analyze the change of water absorption of 5 kinds of resin adhesive materials which used for bonding fiber posts and the microhardness before and after water absorption in order to provide selection criterion for clinical.Materials and Methods:Select 5 kinds of dual-cured resin luting agents which were commonly used in clinical,A(Duo-link),B(Maxcem Elie),C(Panavia F),D(Rely X Unicem)and E(Variolinkll).Prepare 10 samples for each material and divide into 2 subgroups according to the type of the dual-cured resin luting agents,and each subgroup select 5 sample radomly.One subgroup accepted hardness test directly after solidification,another subgroup was soaked in artificial saliva for 7 days to calculated the water absorption value through the change of weight before and after soak,then test the hardness of it.Results:Comparing the microhardness analysis of samples which were not soaked in artificial saliva indicated that D was the hardest which was up to 60.33(±10.65),the following hardness of others were 44.79(±8.10)for C,45.24(±4.70)for E,36.33(±5.63)for A and 23.52(±4.04)for B respectively.Comparing the microhardness analysis of samples which were soaked in artificial saliva indicated that D was the hardest which was up to 44.01(±8.88),the following hardness of others were 35.65(±4.69)for B,38.34(±4.73)for C,37.66(±3.22)for E and 30.43(±2.81)for A respectively.Analyse the microhardness results of soaked samples and not soaked samples in artificial saliva by wilcoxon showed no significantly microhardness difference on Variolink ?,the microhardness of Duo-link,Panavia F and Rely X Unicem were decreased significantly,but the microhardness of Maxcem Elie was increased.Conclusions:The water absorption value of Variolink ? is the lowest,and the hardness change after water absorption is better than the other four resin adhesive materials which shows excellent stability.
