The Effect Of Orthodontic Treatment On Adult Patients' Psychological Condition And Comparison Of Treatment Satisfaction Of Different Orthodontic Appliances

Objective:To survey the effect of orthodontic treatment on patients psychological condition,the basic differences of the patients with the brackets and the invisalign in orthodontic treatment and the satisfaction of these two kinds of patients,to lay the foundation for the pertinence of psychological adjustment,to provide reference and advice for the selection and application of clinical appliance and to improve the patients orthodontic treatment satisfaction and oral health care quality and improve doctor-patient relationship.Methods:2.1 Fifty patients with malocclusion deformity treated in our hospital were treated as experimental group and fifty patients who had not started treatment in the same period were treated as control group.The two groups of patients were tested by Symptom check list-90(SCL90).2.2 Forty-seven patients treated in orthodontic department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University were divided into two groups and subscribed to questionnaire.The basic condition of patients and the satisfaction were investigated and contrasted.Results:3.1 In the course of orthodontic treatment,the patients psychological burden was increased.In the experimental group,there were only 6 mental health patients,accounting for 12%;there were 35 patients with mild psychological probloms,accoun-ting for 70%;and there were 9 patients with moderate or above psychological prob-loms,accounting for 18%.The psychological probloms of patients in the experim-ental group focused on coercion,interpersonal sensitivity and anxiety factors.3.2 The differences between the two groups of age,sex and education were statistica-lly significant(P<0.05).3.3 Satisfaction in treatment showed that the patients in the experimental group were less satisfied with the treatment cost than the control group.The the patients in the experimental group were more satisfied with the aesthetics than the control group.Conclusion:4.1 In the course of orthodontic treatment,the patients psychological burden was increased.Orthodontic medical staff should pay more attention to understanding and analyzing the psychological condition of patients in the treatment and design orthodontic plan.More attention should be paid to understanding the changes of mental state in patients.Thus,psychological counseling and adjustment were carried out and the mental health level of the patients and the compliance and satisfaction ofthe treatment would be improved.4.2 In the orthodontic clinic,patients with the female,the higher education background and the older age tend to choose the invisalign appliances,but patients with the male,the lower education background and the younger age tend to choose the traditional appliances.4.3 The advantage of the traditional brackets was the low cost and the advantage of the invisalign was the better appearance.As a new appliance,the invisalign appliance had its advantages,however,due to the new tool,there were still many problems and deficiencies in all aspects to be improved to bring better use experience for patients and improve patient satisfaction.
