Background and PurposeTo investigate the ? HYPERLINK "D:/Dict/8.0.1.0/resultui/html/index.html" \l "/javascript:;" ?epidemiological?? HYPERLINK "D:/Dict/8.0.1.0/resultui/html/index.html" \l "/javascript:;" ?character?,clinical characteristics, inspection and diagnosis, growth characteristics treatment and prognosis of Mucoepidermoid carcinoma of thymus(TMEC).In order to deepen the understanding of TMEC,and improve the level of diagnosis and treatment of it.Objects and Methods1 Clinical date of a case of TMEC is reported in The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University.2 Serch Pubmed?WANFANG date and CNKI with key words of“Thymic”,“Mucoepidermoid”,“Carcinomas”,“TMEC”.The search results are ?HYPERLINK "D:/Dict/8.0.1.0/resultui/html/index.html" \l "/javascript:;" ?literatures? in which the pathological result is TMEC,Literatures in which the data is less than two types are abandoned. The data of the search and the cases in our hospital are classified and sorted, and are ? HYPERLINK "D:/Dict/8.0.1.0/resultui/html/index.html" \l "/javascript:;" ?statistical? analyzed by the group.3 The results were statistically analyzed using SPSS 21;K-S test is used to test age distribution;Kaplan survival analysis method draws survival tables, and median survival time is calculated;Log Rank(Mantel-Cox)test is used for prognostic multifactorial analysis.Odds ratio is calculated to determine risk factors,a 95% confidence interval is taken;P < 0.05 was considered to be statistically significant..ResultsA total of 33 cases are enrolled, there are 14 females and 19 males. The age range is 8 ~ 84 years old, average age is 48.Most cases are asymptomatic.Major clinical symptoms of the cases is chest pain and short of breath, few cases are accompanied by myasthenia gravis.Computed tomography(CT)scanning is the primary means of finding the disease it revealed a ovoid or lobulated anterior mediastinal mass, with partially cystic formation or Polycystic cavity structure.A patchy calcified shadowand low-density area are partially observed within the mass, uneven enhancement can be seen when enhanced.Pathological examination is the gold standard to determine the disease. In addition to a case of fine needle aspiration biopsy, the remaining cases are confirmed by postoperative pathological examination. It is composed of epidermoid cells, mucous cells and intermediate cells through pathological examination. There are 18 highly differentiated types ? 4 moderately differentiated types?7 poor differentiated types. The main treatment is surgery.Surgical treatment is performed in 29 of 33 patients(87.9%).Complete resection 24 cases, partial resection 3 cases, probe biopsy 2 cases.Aggressive is the growth characteristic of TMEC:More than half of the cases(52.2%)of the tumors in this group infringed the surrounding tissue.postoperative radiotherapy or chemotherapy is done in some cases.Among the 27 patients with follow-up records,9 died in 1 year, accounting for 69.23% of the deaths(9/13).The median survival time of reviewed cases in literature is 39 months.Prognostic multifactor analysis showed that the effect of cell differentiation(Chi-square=13.325,P<0.001)and complete resection(Chi-square=8.54,P=0.003)on prognosis is statistically significant,Masaoka stage(OR=4.5,P=0.072)and age(OR=1.688,P=0.458)are relative risk factors.Conclusion1 TMEC mainly occurs in middle-aged men..2 The clinical symptoms and auxiliary examinations of TMEC are not HYPERLINK "D:/Dict/8.0.1.0/resultui/html/index.html" \l "/javascript:;" differentiable.Few cases can be accompanied by myasthenia gravis.3 The main treatment is surgery.4.TMEC has a poor prognosis.5.The degree of differentiation of tumor cells and complete resection are important factors for prognosis.Masaoka stage and age are relative risk factors.
