The Study Of The TCM Syndromes Of Pathological Myopia Macular Degeneration And Its Relationship With The Pathological Types

ObjectiveThrough the observation of Pathological myopia macular degeneration(PMMD),we can summarize the TCM syndromes of PMMD,study the distribution characteristics of the TCM syndromes,and discover the inherent relation between the TCM syndromes and the pathological types.The conclusions we come to provide the objective standard and theoretical basis for the treatment of traditional medicine,evaluation of curative effect and prognosis.MethodsBy the method of retrospective clinical study,the patients were presented between January 2017 to February 2018 in Guangdong hospital of TCM and met the standard of PMMD.According to the general symptoms and tongue and pulse presentations,we divided the patients into different TCM syndromes.They were classified into four pathological types(the type of lacquer crack,the type of macular retinoschisis,the type of neovascularization,the type of macular atrophy),under the various ocular manifestations as well.After grouping,we recorded the data of diopter and the best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)of each patient from different groups.These data were analyzed by SPSS 20.0 statistical software,and the statistical outcomes reveals the distribution characteristics of the TCM syndromes,and the inner connection between the TCM syndromes and the pathological types.Results1.All 109 cases were divided into six groups : syndrome of ganshenkuixu(53.2%),syndrome of pixushikun(14.68%),syndrome of shireyunjie(13.76%),syndrome of qizhixueyu(9.2%),syndrome of ganjingyure(5.5%),syndrome of xuhuozhuoluo(3.67%).2.All 109 cases were divided into four groups as well : type of macular atrophy(49.54%),type of lacquer crack(22.94%),type of neovascularization(16.51%),type of macular retinoschisis(11.01%).3.Compare the pathological types with the TCM syndromes,we can find that in the syndrome of xuhuozhuoluo,we can only see the type of neovascularization(100%).In the syndrome of qizhixueyu,syndrome of ganshenkuixu,syndrome of ganjingyure,the type of macular atrophy is most common(60%,58.62%,50%,respectively).In the syndrome of shireyunjie,the type of lacquer crack is most popular(40%).4.Compare the TCM syndromes with the pathological types,we can find that syndrome of ganshenkuixu(62.96%)is most common among the type of macular atrophy.The diopter of this type is mostly larger than-10.00DS(50.79%).The BCVA is mainly in the range of 0.1 to 0.3(47.62%).It is also the syndrome of ganshenkuixu that is most popular in the type of lacquer crack(52%).The diopter of the type of lacquer crack is mostly between-6.00 DS and-8.00DS(56%).The BCVA is mainly between 0.4 and 0.6(56%).In the type of neovascularization,syndrome of ganshenkuixu(50%)is most popular.The diopter is mostly in the range of-6.00 DS to-8.00DS(66.67%).In the type of macular retinoschisis,the syndrome of shireyunjie(41.67%)and syndrome of qizhixueyu(33.33%)are more popular.The diopter of this type is mostly larger than-10.00DS(58.33%).The BCVA is mainly in the range of 0.1 to 0.3(83.33%).Conclusion1.The 109 PMMD patients can be divided into six TCM syndromes,syndrome of ganjingyure,syndrome of ganshenkuixu,syndrome of pixushikun,syndrome of qizhixueyu,syndrome of shireyunjie,syndrome of xuhuozhuoluo.Syndrome of ganjingyure is most common.2.The type of macular atrophy is most popular in the four pathological types of PMMD,and the type of lacquer crack is most rare.3.Compare the pathological types with the TCM syndromes,the type of neovascularization is the most popular in the syndrome of xuhuozhuoluo.In the syndrome of qizhixueyu,syndrome of ganshenkuixu,syndrome of ganjingyure,the type of macular atrophy is most common.In the syndrome of shireyunjie,the type of lacquer crack is most popular.4.Compare the TCM syndromes with the pathological types,syndrome of ganshenkuixu is most common among the type of macular atrophy,the type of lacquer crack and the type of neovascularization.In the type of macular retinoschisis,the syndrome of shireyunjie and syndrome of qizhixueyu are more popular.5.Even though the evidence of relationship between TCM syndromes and the pathological types of PMMD is insufficient,the data shows correlation.This study still need large sample,multicenter study to confirm its scientificity and accuracy.
