Nursing professional English is a branch of special-purpose English and is specialized in English for nursing staff.The construction of Chinese nursing professional English course began in December 2004.The national institute of advanced medical materials construction has been formally named as nursing professional English course,and the nursing professional English writing committee has been established.With the integration of the global economy and the internationalization of medicine education,the demand for foreign-related nursing talents is increasing,and many countries are very short of nurses.As long as English is good,it is very easy for nurses to go abroad.Together with the deepening of the global economic integration process,international communication has become more and more common,and more and more foreign hospitals have appeared in China.As more and more foreigners come to work or study in China,the hospital has a growing demand for multi-disciplinary nurses who are proficient in English,and the international trend of nurses' career is becoming more and more significant.In this context,the demand for nursing talents has been continuously expanded,which means the students who require this major can communicate directly and accurately with foreign patients after taking the job.Therefore,the ability of oral English is very important to the students.But at present,the general status of oral English study of the professional students is still "Chinglish" and "Dumb English".Weak oral English is a common problem in the English study of nursing students in higher vocational colleges.There are many problems in nursing English spoken teaching in higher vocational colleges,which need to be improved.Otherwise,they cannot meet the demands of social development and meet the needs of students' future career.In this paper,the current situation of nursing oral English teaching is studied.This paper firstly introduces the present situation and prospect of nursing profession in higher vocational colleges and the present situation of nursing oral English.Then the definition and characteristics of nursing English and oral English teaching are summarized.This paper briefly reviews the research achievements of nursing oral English teaching in education teaching.Based on the theory of input and output theory of constructivism,the theory of speech behavior theory is the theoretical basis.In combination with the actual situation of the teaching practice,By carrying out the student questionnaire survey,teacher questionnaire survey,interviews with learners and teachers,oral English testing,classroom observation,access to information and other forms.Taking Jiangxi Health Vocational College as an example to conduct in-depth investigation and research.The investigation and analysis of the current situation of the students' oral English learning and the actual situation of teachers' oral English teaching are analyzed,and analyze the discussion.At present,the problem of nursing oral English teaching in higher vocational colleges is mainly in five aspects:Despise oral training and students have low voice cognition.The lack of practical nursing English teaching materials suitable for high vocational students.Lack of oral test.The study habits of higher vocational students are poor.The motivation is not strong.The teaching mode is single and backward,unable to improve students'application ability.Teachers need professional training and incentives.In order to solve these problems to improve the ability of oral English in higher vocational nursing,reform is needed in many ways.This paper clarifies the need for improvement of nursing oral English teaching in higher vocational schools.The corresponding countermeasures are putting forward.It aims to have a new breakthrough in theory and research.Improve the actual learning effect of oral English.To promote the improvement of teachers' oral teaching ability and professional growth.I hope to provide reference for the reform of future higher vocational nursing oral English.
