| Purpose:To explore the correlation between symptoms and signs of different degrees of dry eye and its causes. Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted to collect patients with dry eyes at xiamen eye center from June 2016 to December 2017.Included 578 patients with dry eye, with 159 cases male patients,419 cases of female patients(patients’ eyes are inspected, selected for the study of symptom scores high risk of eye,if the score equal to take the patient as the research in the right eye eye).According to the consensus of China’s dry eye experts in 2013,there are 287 cases of mild dry eye and 291 cases of moderate and severe dry eye.Collect patients’ subjective discomfort: dry, foreign, photophobia, etc. Objective signs: vision, conjunctival congestion, corneal fluorescein sodium dyeing, angular conjunctival sodium fluorescein staining,it appears burst time(Tear Break up time,TBUT),no surface anesthesia of Tear secretion test(Schirmer I).To analyze the correlation between subjective discomfort symptoms and objective signs, and to explore the reasons. Results:Dry eyes are the most common subjective symptoms of dry eyes, and 88.9% of dry eyes have dry feeling. The tear film rupture time was shortened to the most common sign in dry eyes, with 74.7% of dry eyes with tear film break-up time less than or equal to 5 seconds. The OSDI score of patients with mild dry eye was negatively correlated with vision, and the correlation coefficient was-0.175,with significant statistical significance(P=0.003).There was no significant correlation between the OSDI score and the bulbar conjunctiva hyperremia,TBUT,corneal fluorescein staining, conjunctival fluorescein staining, and Schirmer test(P > 0.05).OSDI score was negatively correlated with vision in patients with moderate and severe dry eyes, and the correlation coefficient was-0.126,which was statistically significant(P=0.032).The OSDI score was negatively correlated with the staining of the conjunctival, and the correlation coefficient was-0.165,with significant statistical significance(P=0.005).There was no significant correlation between OSDI score and bulbar conjunctiva hyperremia,TBUT,corneal corneal fluorescein staining and Schirmer test.Patients with dry eye symptoms and signs in the separation of the patients(38.8%),eliminate the symptoms and signs of dry eye patients OSDI score and negatively correlated with visual acuity, correlation coefficient is 0.233,there was a significant statistical significance(P=0.000);The OSDI score was positively correlated with the conjunctival congestion and the correlation coefficient was 0.210,with significant statistical significance(P=0.000).OSDI score was positively correlated with corneal fluorescein sodium staining, and the correlation coefficient was 0.303,with significant statistical significance(P=0.000).The OSDI score was positively correlated with the conjunctival fluorescein staining, and the correlation coefficient was 0.456,with significant statistical significance(P=0.000).There was no significant correlation between OSDI score and TBUT and Schirmer test(P>0.05).Among the patients with dry eye combined with diabetes,45.7% of the total number of patients with dry eye combined with diabetes in the outpatient department were patients whose symptoms and signs were separated.Among the patients with dry eyes after LASIK keratoplasty,43.4% of the patients whose symptoms and signs were separated accounted for after LASIK keratectomy.Among the patients with dry eyes combined with anxiety disorder or depression,62.5% of the total number of patients with dry eyes combined with anxiety disorder or depression admitted to the outpatient department were separated by symptoms and signs.Conclusion:1.The most common symptoms of dry eyes are the dry-ness,and the most common objective sign is the shortening of TBUT.2.The OSDI score of the patients with dry eyes was negatively correlated with the patient’s vision, and the OSDI score of the patients with moderate and severe dry eyes was negatively correlated with the fluorescein staining of the conjunctivitis.3.There was no correlation between OSDI score and other signs in dry eyes, which may be related to the interference of the data of patients with dry eye symptoms and signs.4.Common factors that affect the symptoms and signs of dry eyes are diabetes, laser assisted in situ keratectomy(LASIK),anxiety or depression. |
