Objective:To improve the diagnosis of basal cell carcinoma(BCC)through the analysis of clinicopathological features of facial BCC.Methods:The clinical data from 191 patients with facial BCC,who were diagnosed by histopathologic examination in our department of dermatology between February 2013 and August 2017,were collected and analyzed.Results:1.Among 191 patients enrolled,84 cases were male,107 cases were female, thus the ratio of male to female patients was 0.79:1.The age distribution ranged from 32 years to 91 years old, with an average of66.06±12.47 years.Among the patients older than 60 years who occupied73.30% of all the cases, the male/female ratio was 0.69:1,and there are no significant difference between age of onset and male-female constitute ratio(P>0.05).2.Course of disease ranged from one month to 32 years, with a medium of 3 years.3.Lesions were absolutely single(100.00%),which especially occur on the modified facial esthetic unit of the nose, eyelid and buccal division that was the most common sites of BCC(34.55%)and tumors on H sites accounted for a high proportion(21.47%)as well.Clinically,92.15% of theBCC were pigmented and 69.11% were ulcerated or anabrotic. The tumors which show erosion or ulcer on the surface between men and women(P<0.05)and about different age distribution(P<0.05)have significant differences.4.According to histopathological characteristics by HE stain, all of cases were diagnosed with BCC,including the types of nodular, infiltrating, pgimented, morpheaform, sclerosing and micronodular, while the first two types(90.57%)were more common, the others were in very small proportion.Conclusion:1.Clinically,facial BCC with hyperpigmentation is popular and several cases is ulcerated or anabrotic.2.Lesions occurring on the modified facial esthetic unit of the nose, eyelid and buccal division are the most common.3.Two types of nodular and infiltrating are more common in facial BCC.
