| Objective: To investigate the concentration of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),interleukin 6(IL-6)and interleukin 8(IL-8)in the aqueous humor of eyes with central retinal vein occlusion(CRVO)in young people and old people,and explore the correlation between them and central macular thickness(CMT).Method: According to the age of CRVO occurring,24 eyes of 24 patients were divided into two groups: 6 eyes of 6 patients in the young patient group(age?50 yerars old)and 18 eyes of 18 patients in the old patient group(age>50 years old).The difference and correlation of VEGF,IL-6 and IL-8 concentrations in the aqueous humor and CMT were measured and analyzed between two groups.Results: In the CRVO eyes of young patient group and old patient group,the average CMT were 697.00 ± 391.81?m and 768.44 ± 407.88?m respectively,and there was no significant difference(t=-0.37,P=0.71)between two groups.The average concentration of VEGF in the aqueous humor were197.85 ± 198.21pg/ml and 310.87 ± 338.89pg/ml respectively,and there was no significant difference between two groups(t=-0.77,P=0.45).The average concentration of IL-6 in the aqueous humor were 721.33 ± 634.60pg/ml and239.79 ± 199.02pg/ml respectively and average concentration of IL-8 were667.63 ± 307.34pg/ml and 246.24 ± 366.97pg/ml respectively.There were significant differences between two groups(t=3.35,P=0.02)and(t=2.52,P=0.02).There were positive linear correlation between VEGF,IL-6 and IL-8concentration in the aqueous humor and CMT,and there were positive linear correlation between the concentrations of VEGF,IL-6 and IL-8.Conclusions: There was no difference in the level of CMT and ischemiain CRVO eyes between young and old patients,which was related to the elevated intraocular concentration of VEGF,IL-6 and IL-8,and the inflammation in young patients was more severe.There was a correlation between ischemia and inflammation state after CRVO occurring. |
