Anastomotic leakage(AL)is a common and serious complication after low anterior resection.It delays postoperative recovery of patients,increases the patient’s pain,economic burden and waste of medical resources,and adversely affects the patient’s later treatment.The prevention,diagnosis and treatment of postoperative anastomotic leakage in rectal cancer is particularly important.By summarizing the related studies of postoperative anastomotic fistula in rectal cancer at home and abroad,the author reviewed the definition,diagnosis,risk factors,prevention measures and treatment of postoperative anastomotic leakage in rectal cancer.
