Objective:The relationship between the levels of uric acid, uric acid / creatinine and acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease was observed by measuring the level of serum uric acid and creatinine.Method: 120 cases of AECOPD were selected 96 cases of AECOPD combined with respiratory failure and 80 cases of COPD stable phase.According to the results of pulmonary function test, they were divided into ?,?,? and ? levels.Additionally,50 cases of physical examination center in our hospital were selected as control group.Serum uric acid and creatinine levels were detected. The differences of serum uric acid and uric acid / creatinine between the four groups were compared. The changes of serum uric acid and uric acid / creatinine before and after treatment of AECOPD and AECOPD combined with respiratory failure were compared. Results: The ratio of serum uric acid to uric acid / creatinine is positively correlated with the severity and anoxia. The more severe the disease is,the worse the lung function is(GOLD grade),the more obvious the anoxia is,the higher the ratio of blood uric acid and blood uric acid to creatinine, also The ratio of serum uric acid and uric acid / creatinine in patients with AECOPD and complications after hospitalization was significantly lower than that before admission. Conclusion: The ratio of blood uric acid and uric acid / creatinine can be used as a reference index to predict the severity of AECOPD and the change of the condition. The blood uric acid / creatinine ratio is more sensitive than the blood uric acid to predict the severity of the disease and the change of the condition.
