Analysis On Status Of Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Care Literacy And Its Impact On The Use Of TCM Health Services Among University Teachers

[Purpose]The purpose of this study is based on knowledge-attitude-belief-practice theory,using TCM health care literacy evaluation tool to understand the level of TCM health care literacy of Chinese teachers and its influencing factors.Then explore the impact of TCM health care literacy on the utilization of Chinese medicine health service.Finally,puts forward some suggestions on how to improve the quality of TCM health care literacy for Chinese university teachers and promote them rational use of TCM services.[Methods]Through multistage cluster sampling to investigate 420 university teachers' basic situation,the current situation of TCM health care literacy and service utilization of Chinese medicine health in Wuhan,the questionnaire recovery rate was 96.2%.Epidata3.1 is adopted to establish the database,and using SPSS21.0 for data analysis.[Results] 1.Basic characteristics of demography of university teachersAmong the 404 teachers,49.5% were men and 50.5% were women;The average age was 42.87 ± 9.106 years old;Undergraduate and below,master's and doctor's degrees were 28.2%,29.5%,42.3%;Married,unmarried,divorce /widowed teachers were 88.9%,7.7%,3.4%;Lecturers and below,associate professors,professors were 40.1%,47.0%,12.9%;Education,accounting,accounting for 46.8%,management,agriculture,medicine,economics,military,accounting for 53.2%;Family population of 1-2 people accounted for 30.4%,3 accounted for 43.1%,4 or more accounted for 26.5%;The average household income of 7,000,7001-10000,10001 and above,the proportion was 24.5%,50.2%,25.2%;Suffering from chronic diseases accounted for 26.2%,not suffering from chronic disease accounted for 73.8%.2.The general situation of teachers in universities of TCM health care literacy(1)The proportion of Chinese health care literacy of university teachers36.9% of teachers in universities have TCM health care literacy,the proportion of Chinese medicine health care concept and knowledge,Chinese medicine health content and methods,and healthy lifestyle and behavior of Chinese medicine were 48.0%,32.4% and 31.5%,respectively.(2)The score situation of Chinese health care literacy of 404 teachersThe results showed that the average score of health care literacy was 11.98 ± 2.458,the average score of health care idea and knowledge was 5.55 ± 1.428,the average score of health care content and method was 3.36 ± 1.053,and the average score of healthy lifestyle and behavior was 3.07 ± 0.917.Male and female Chinese health care literacy scores were 11.7±2.246,12.26 ± 2.625;?35 years old,36-45 years old,46-55 years old,> 55 years old teachers score were 11.65±2.738,12.49±2.29,11.97±2.509,10.95±1.621;undergraduate and below,master,doctoral teacher scores were 11.47 ± 2.07,11.88 ± 2.688,12.39 ± 2.472;literary history philosophy of science and education,science and technology doctor's teacher scores were 12.05 ± 2.695,11.92 ± 2.234;suffering from chronic disease,not suffering from chronic disease teachers were 11.27 ± 2.082,12.23 ± 2.534.3.Analysis on the influencing factors of TCM health care literacy of teachers(1)Correlative Analysis on the Score of TCM Health Care.According to the correlation analysis,the correlation coefficient between the overall literacy level and the basic knowledge concept,the health content and the method,the life style and the behavior are 0.723,0.61 and 0.256.Basic knowledge and ideas,health care content and methods,lifestyle and behavior of the correlation coefficient were 0.424 and 0.128.The correlation coefficient of health care content and methods,lifestyle and behavior is 0.032.Overall there is a positive correlation of each dimension,but the correlation is relatively weak grasp of knowledge and behavior.(2)Analysis of related factors of TMC health care literacy of 404 teachers.Single factor analysis showed that the main factors affecting the level of TCM health care literacy are gender,age,educational level and chronic disease.The result of t-test or one-way ANOVA showed that the score of women is higher than that of men;36-45-year-old teachers with the highest score of the literacy;Dr.scoring the highest in overall literacy,basic ideas and knowledge,health content and methods;Teachers of literature,history,philosophy,law,management,arts,teaching in life and behavior scores were higher than the rationale,workers,agriculture,medicine,economics,military.The score of teachers who do not suffer from slow illness is higher than the teachers with chronic diseases on TCM health care literacy level,and differences between the groups was statistically significant.(3)Single factor logistic regression analysisLogistic regression analysis showed that gender,educational level and age were the influencing factors of university teachers' TCM health care literacy.4.Present Situation of TCM Health Service Utilization in university teachers(1)The preferences and causes of treatment options for 404 teachers after illnessIf they're sick,40.8% of the teachers would choose Integrative Medicine,29.2% of the teachers are willing to choose Western medicine treatment,22.8% of the teachers said that if it is acute disease on the choice of Western medicine treatment,if it is chronic disease on the choice of Chinese medicine,however,the choice of Chinese medicine treatment was7.2%.The main reason for the choice of traditional Chinese medicine treatment is small side effects,the main reason for choosing Western medicine is quick,choose the combination of Chinese medicine is a good effect.(2)Current situation of TCM medical service utilization404 teachers prevalence was 34.7%,of which 85.8% of the teachers were treated after the illness(including self-treatment),In the patients who had been to the outpatient department,the highest proportion of the first visit is the provincial hospital,there were the largest number of teachers have chosen Integrative Medicine,the proportion was 56.8%,and in self-treatment,30.4% of people have used self-care treatment.(3)Current Situation of TCM health care service utilizationTo survey 397 college teachers who used traditional Chinese medicine health care,found that many people think that the effect of health care is good or better,accounting for 64.2%;In the choice of Chinese medicine health mode,the use of the largest number of Chinese medicine is appropriate technology,accounting for 87.9%,followed by the use of diet health,accounting for 57.9%;In the use of appropriate technology,the top three were massage,cupping and acupuncture,respectively,the proportion are 50.2%,44.3% and 30.2%.5.Effect of TCM Health Care Literacy Level on TCM Health Service Utilization(1)Effect of TCM health care literacy on trust degree of TCMIn the trust of traditional Chinese medicine treatment and prevention of health care,teachers who very trust in Chinese medicine to treat the disease,the overall level of Chinese medicine literacy is higher than other teachers that do not trust Chinese medicine.In three dimensions,there are statistical differences in health care content and methods(=9.396,P=0.024).Literacy level also affects the trust of Chinese health care(=11.328,P=0.003),and the higher level of health literacy teachers,the higher degree of confidence in Chinese health care.(2)The impact of TCM health care literacy on the treatment of disease preferencesThe study found that the overall level of health care literacy of TCM,health care content and methods of the choice of disease options were statistically significant differences,TCM health care literacy level,content and methods of high level of teachers are more inclined to choose Chinese medicine treatment.(3)Effect of TCM health care literacy on TCM service utilizationSurrounded by sick teachers of traditional Chinese medicine health care literacy is lower than the sick teachers,and has statistical significance.(4)The Influence of TCM Literacy on TCM Health Care ServiceThe study found that the quality of TCM health care and three dimensions of the literacy level impact on the use of health care services,and the difference is statistically significant.Teachers TCM literacy level is high,were more use of Chinese medicine health care services.A survey of 397 teachers who have used traditional Chinese medicine health care has found that more people think that the effect of Chinese medicine health care is good,accounting for 64.2%,and TCM literacy have a positive impact on TCM Health Care Service.6.Effect of TCM health care literacy on health statusMedicine health literacy(= 8.089,P = 8.089),the concept of health care and knowledge(= 10.385,P = 10.385),a healthy lifestyle and behavior(= 12.729,P = 12.729)influence on university teachers' health is statistically significant,high Chinese health care literacy scores high.[Conclusions]1.The level of TCM health care literacy of college teachers is higher than that of Chinese citizens.In three dimensions,the basic concept and the level of literacy are higher than the level of healthy lifestyle and behavior,indicating that health knowledge into a healthy behavior requires a certain stage.2.The degree of education,gender and age are the main factors that affect the level of health care literacy of teachers.Take appropriate measures to improve the level of health care literacy of college teachers and promote teachers to use traditional Chinese medicine services health care,which should be aimed at the characteristics of college teachers and influencing factors.3.University teachers with strong accessibility in Chinese medicine health services,but fewer teachers choose community health service centers.There is a gap between the preferences to treat disease and the actual treatment after illness in teachers,indicating that the change of behavior is a complicated and difficult process.So community service centers should paying Attention to popularization of Traditional Chinese Medicine in university teachers and take advantage to carry out health promotion and health education activities on knowledge of Chinese medicine health care.4.Teachers trust in Chinese medicine health care,and use more,and results evaluation was better,indicating that TCM in health care has a clear advantage.Among them,the most widely used was Chinese medicine technology,the relevant departments should take measures to strictly control the implementation of appropriate technical personnel,establish supervision mechanism,supervise the safety and quality of service of social health care institutions,and further enhance the trust of Chinese medicine.
