The Effects Of Traditional Chinese Medicine And Electro Acupuncture On The Repair Of Acute Spinal Cord Injury In Canine

Acute spinal cord injury in dogs and cats occur after limb paralysis,paraplegia,incontinence and other symptoms.At present,surgery and hormone therapy are the main treatment in clinic,but the application of traditional Chinese medicine and electro acupuncture treatment of spinal cord injury is relatively small.The traditional Chinese medicine has abundant clinical experience in the treatment of body flaccidity,function loss symptom and other aspects,and achieved good results.Therefore,the experimental researched of Traditional Chinese medicine compound and Electro Acupuncture for the influence of the repair of spinal cord injury,to explore traditional Chinese medicine and Electro Acupuncture for dog spinal cord injury repair works,foundation for its application in clinical.In this study,20 healthy Chinese pastoral dogs aged 12¹8 months were randomly divided into 5 groups.Blank control group,Traditional Chinese medicine group,Electro Acupuncture group,Traditional Chinese medicine combined with Electro Acupuncture group and model group?without treatment?.The model of acute spinal cord injury was established by the method of balloon compression in the spinal cord of the left side of L₁.After the model was established,they were continuously treated with 14d.Before making the model 1d,1d,3d,7d,14d,21d after modeling,the behavioral scores of each group of dogs were measured,and the blood biochemical parameters,serum CRP,anti-inflammatory factor IL-10,T-AOC levels and NESTIN levels were detected.Experiment 28d,each group were randomly selected a dog to check its injured spinal cord by the nuclear magnetic resonance imaging for injured spinal cord organize observation.Experiment 30d,each group were randomly selected a dog to take the injured spinal cord organize for histological observation and NESTIN levels.The results as follows:1.Groped by different amount of oppression and repression long lesion in the spinal cord compression method,it was concluded that to establish small dog permanence paralysis of spinal cord injury model best compression volume of 1.5 ml,the optimum pressure time for1 min.2.In 7²1 d stage after spinal cord injury,the treatment group of hind limbs function score were on the rise,and were higher than in model group?P>0.05?;21 d after spinal cord injury,the Electro Acupuncture group and the Traditional Chinese medicine combined with Electro Acupuncture group of hind limbs movement score increased,significantly higher than that of model group and the Traditional Chinese medicine group?P<0.05?.3.Throughout the trial stage,the Traditional Chinese medicine combined with Electro Acupuncture group of AST,ALT levels were less than model group?P>0.05?,and similar to the trend of blank control group.4.In 7²1 d stage after spinal cord injury,the content of CRP of Traditional Chinese medicine group and Electro Acupuncture group,Traditional Chinese medicine combined with Electro Acupuncture group were lower than those in the model group?P>0.05?.Throughout the trial stage,the level of IL-10 was higher in the Traditional Chinese medicine combined with Electro Acupuncture group than that in the model group and the Traditional Chinese medicine group.In the first 7d after spinal cord injury,the IL-10 level of Traditional Chinese medicine combined with Electro Acupuncture group reached the peak,and was higher than the model group,Electro Acupuncture group,Traditional Chinese medicine group,and significantly higher than Electro Acupuncture group,Traditional Chinese medicine group?P<0.01?.Throughout the trial stage,the T-AOC level of the Traditional Chinese medicine group,Electro Acupuncture group and the Traditional Chinese medicine combined with Electro Acupuncture group were higher than before building model,and all of them increased in different degrees.5.Experiment 28d,in the Traditional Chinese medicine combined with Electro Acupuncture group,the edge of spinal cord injury was smooth and tidy,and the spinal cord showed edema and softening.the edge of spinal cord injuries in the Traditional Chinese medicine group and the Electro Acupuncture group or the model groups of spinal cord injury was irregular,the local tissue necrosis and the spinal cord thickening were more obvious.In the blank control group,the cerebrospinal fluid in the spinal cord and subarachnoid space was clearly identified.6.Experiment 30d,the NESTIN expression in the spinal cord injury of the treatment group were enhanced to some extent.The highest level of NESTIN in the spinal cord tissue injury was the Traditional Chinese medicine combined with Electro Acupuncture group,and even higher than that in the blank control group.7.Experiment 30d,in the Traditional Chinese medicine combined with Electro Acupuncture group,the spinal cord neurons were densely arranged,Nissl bodies appeared in the central chromatin,and the morphology was normal.In the Traditional Chinese medicine group,the cell bodies of the nerve cells were swollen and broken,and the boundary was unclear or atrophic,along with the lumen of the liquefaction.In the Electro Acupuncture group,the cell bodies of neurons were edematous,and the number of Nissl bodies in the vicinity of the nucleus was decreased.The number of neurons in the model group decreased obviously,the arrangement was sparse,the Nissl body was fuzzy,the spinal cord nucleus was pyknosis,the cytoplasm dissolved,the swelling and fragmentation of the cells,the boundary was unclear or atrophic and disappeared,and the cavity appeared in the cavity.In the blank control group,the nucleoli in the gray matter of the spinal cord were clear and dense,and the Nissl corpuscles were normal.In the blank control group,the nuclei of the neurons in the spinal cord gray matter were clear,dark blue,dense arrangement,and the distribution of Nissl bodies was uniform and the size of them was normal.The experimental results show that the hind limb function can be improved after the TCM treatment of acute spinal cord injury in dogs.In the early stage of spinal cord injury,the consumption of T-AOC in serum can be reduced and the lipid peroxidation can be slowed down.In the later stage of spinal cord injury,it can lower the level of CRP in serum,stimulate the body to secrete more anti-inflammatory factors IL-10,alleviate inflammatory reaction and inhibit inflammatory reaction,thus greatly reduce secondary injury.At the same time,it can enhance the expression of the nest protein in the serum and local lesion tissue,thereby promoting the regeneration and function of the damaged spinal cord neurons.Compared with the three treatment methods,the combination of Traditional Chinese medicine and Electro Acupuncture is the best.
