Objective: To evaluate the changes in foveal avascular zone(FAZ)area after a single intravitreal Anti-VEGF injection for macular edema(ME)secondary to retinal vein occlusion(RVO)and diabetic macular edema(DME)by optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA),and to analyze the effect of Anti-vascular endothelial growth factor(Anti-VEGF)therapy on retinal micro circulation. Methods: In this retrospective case study,8 eyes of 8 patients with central retinal vein occlusion(Group 1)and 10 eyes of 10 patients with branch retinal vein occlusion(Group2)and 16 eyes of 10 patientswith diabetic macular edema(Group 3)were recruited from the Department of Ophthalmology the First Hospital of china Medical university, from September 1,2017 to November 1,2017.All patients in the study were treated with0.05 ml intravitreous injection of Ranibizumab or conbercept.Use Loadding Phase plan for clinical treatmen.Follow up for 3 months,All eyes best corrected visual acuity was measured by the International Standard Visual acuity scale, optical coherence tomography(OCT),Central macular thickness(CMT)was measured by the fast macular scan protocol of OCT and OCTA images were measured in the foveal regions at the level of the s uperficial(SCP)and deep retinal capillary plexus(DCP)before and after intravitreal injection,The changes in BCVA,CMT,and FAZ areas of patients enrolled before and after treatment were analyzed and compared. Results: After averange 95(85-95)days follow-up,Group 1,Group 2 and Group 3 the log MAR BCVA improved from 1.080±0.47 ? 0.66±0.24 ? 0.76±0.26 at baseline to0.73±0.24?0.41±0.20?0.45±0.20(P<0.05).Mean central retinal thickness determined by OCT decreased from 599.62 ±229.47?m?409.90±141.35?m?390.68±200.65?m at baseline to 263.25±89.45?m?253.90±63.86?m?250.00±58.93?m(P<0.05).FAZ area in the SCP and DCP were not significantly different before and after intravitreal injection(all P>0.05).Conclusion: 1.In this study, intravitreal injection of Anti-VEGF agent therapy for retinal vascular diseases show visual acuity improvement, retinal thickness reduction.2.FAZ area no significantly change after intravitreal injection of Anti-VEGF agent therapy for retinal vascular diseases.
