Objective: through the spinal canal placed polyurethane pressure piece of chronic spinal cord compression model is set up,discuss methylprednisolone in the treatment of corresponding time points in the model of SEP changes and pathological correlation.Methods: 40 healthy adult male SD rats,ordinal number,its randomly divided into experimental group(n = 20)and the control group(n = 20),in which the experimental group and control group lines are rat carotid 6 segmental posterior vertebral lamina resection,exposing the spinal cord,and the expandable polymer materials placed in rear 5 segmental spinal canal on the left side of the neck,chronic spinal cord compression model is set up;In 14 days after successfully established model,the experimental group rats tail line intravenous methylprednisolone static treatment,control group without any treatment.Record the experimental group 1 day,2 days,3 days after treatment of BBB score,SEP signals and the pathological changes of spinal cord injury,and control group with periods of BBB score,SEP signals and pathological changes of spinal cord injury.SEP signal processing analysis data,through HE staining to observe tissue pathological changes of compression of the spinal cord.For the statistical analysis,finally come to the conclusion.Results: 1.The BBB score: the rat model after 2 weeks to 3 days after treatment,through the observation of rat hind limbs movement score,display completeness,hind legs paralyzed between groups of rats after spinal cord injury gradually restore movement function,BBB score results show that the experimental group and control group in 15 d,16 d BBB score did not see the obvious difference(p > 0.05),17 d the behavior of the function group were significantly superior to the oppression,the difference was statistically significant(p < 0.05),with the treatment and the longer the better the results.2.SEP signals: 3 days after the treatment of methylprednisolone group after the treatment of P wave crest value percentage is much higher than the control group,do statistical analysis also showed statistically significant(P < 0.05).In addition,the third day after treatment dose group P wave value as a percentage of recovery,about 2 weeks after modeling data has statistical significance(P < 0.05).Postoperative day 1,day 2 to medicine group and control group of P wave value as a percentage of recovery,after statistics analysis,there is no statistical significance(P > 0.05).Methylprednisolone therapy after 3 days the percentage of P wave incubation period shorten with the control group and the percentage of the 2 weeks after modeling do statistical analysis,were statistically significant(P < 0.05).Postoperative day 1,day 2 to medicine group and the control group,the percentage of P wave incubation period shorten after statistical analysis,there is no statistical significance(P > 0.05).3.HE staining: all different degree of spinal cord compression in white matter by experimental microscopy osteoporosis,a thin mesh change,part of the visible demyelinating changes;Compression of nerve cell edema;All specimens in the experimental group are visible to the reduced Numbers of varying degrees of nerve cells,can also be observed that glial cells appear different degree of swelling,microglial cells proliferation and phenomenon,of the nerve cells of the spinal cord after modeling specimen visible in spinal cord edema,liquefied obviously,visible in the spinal cord anterior horn motor neurons,hemorrhage and necrosis,fewer large cavity formation;Conclusion: through the experiment proves that the BBB score: chronic spinal cord injury model of rats after methylprednisolone therapy 3 days score increased significantly,proved to be high-dose methylprednisolone for chronic spinal cord injury therapy is effective on behavior.SEP signals: methylprednisolone for experimental group 3 days after the percentage of P wave crest value and the percentage of the incubation period shorten recovery is much higher than the control group,were statistically significant(P < 0.05).HE staining: after the model to 3 days in the process of drug treatment,spinal cord tissue and cells recovered form.
