Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence of myopia in 4th to 6th grade students in Urumqi,analyze the visual related quality of life,social anxiety and depression in pupils,and explore the main factors affecting the visual quality of life and mental health of myopia pupils in Xinjiang.Methods: 1.Four primary schools in Urumqi were randomly selected by stratified random sampling.In each of the four to six grades of each school,two classes were randomly selected for each grade,and a total of 1471 students in 24 classes were examined for visual acuity.According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,552 myopia pupils and 581 pupils with normal eyesight were selected as subjects for questionnaire survey.The survey includes:(1)Basic situation survey of primary school students;(2)Visual related quality of life scale(NEI-VFQ-25)to evaluate the visual quality of life of pupils;(3)Rosenberg self-esteem scale(SES)to evaluate the level of self-esteem of pupils;(4)Children's social anxiety scale(SASC)evaluates the social anxiety of pupils;(5)Child Depression Scale(CDI)evaluates the depression of pupils.2.Using the purpose of sampling,12 students from high myopia and their parents were invited to conduct semi-structured in-depth interviews.The interview data and content were analyzed by Colaizzi phenomenological analysis.Results: 1.The prevalence of myopia in primary school students from fourth to sixth grade in Urumqi is 37.56%;the prevalence of myopia in 4th grade students is 26.81%,the prevalence rate of myopia in fifth grade students is 41.44%,and the prevalence of myopia in sixth grade students is 44.74%,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the prevalence of myopia in boys was 33.78%,and the prevalence of myopia in girls was 41.41%,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);2.The scores of visual quality of life of myopia pupils were lower than those of normal pupils.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The difference of visual quality of life visual scale of myopia pupils with different grades and different myopia was statistically significant(P< 0.05);grade,degree of myopia,time of wearing glasses,and duration of myopia were risk factors affecting visual quality of myopia pupils(P<0.05);3.The social anxiety detection rate of myopia pupils in the fourth to sixth grades in Urumqi was 31.34%;the scores of social anxiety scales of myopia pupils were higher than those of the normal pupils,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);different grades,genders,different degrees of myopia The difference of social anxiety scale scores of myopia pupils was statistically significant(P<0.05);grade,gender,degree of myopia,time of wearing glasses,parental education,and self-esteem were the risk factors of social anxiety in primary school pupils(P<0.05);4.The detection rate of depression in myopia pupils in the fourth to sixth grades of Urumqi was 12.32%;the score of depression of myopia pupils was higher than that of normal pupils,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the depression of myopia pupils of different grades and myopia The difference in table scores was statistically significant(P<0.05);the degree of myopia,sleep time and outdoor activity time were the risk factors for depression in primary school pupils(P<0.05).Conclusion: 1.The prevalence of myopia in the fourth to sixth grade pupils in Urumqi is high,suggesting that more attention should be paid to the prevention and treatment of myopia in pupils in Urumqi.2.The visual life quality of myopia pupils in fourth to sixth grades in Urumqi is low,and the quality of visual life is related to various factors,including grade,degree of myopia,time of wearing glasses,and duration of myopia.3.The social anxiety of myopia pupils in the fourth to sixth grades in Urumqi is more prominent,and the social anxiety is related to various factors,including grade,gender,degree of myopia,wearing time,parental education,self-esteem level;4.The depression of myopia pupils in the fourth to sixth grades in Urumqi is more prominent,the occurrence of depression is related to a variety of factors,including degree of myopia,sleep time,outdoor activity time.
