Objective:This study was to understand the status and related relationships of patient safety culture cognition,self-efficacy and safety behaviors of nursing interns(hereinafter referred to as internship nursing students),and clarify the impact of the patient safety culture and self-efficacy on safety behaviors of internship nursing students. Finally, reference materials for improving the safety behavior of internship nursing students can be provided. Methods:This study was a descriptive study of non-experimental study.A convenient sampling method was used to investigate 285 internship nursing students in the middle of the internship in six undergraduate colleges in Jilin Province and Henan Province. The survey included general information, hospital patient safety culture questionnaire, general self-efficacy scale and safety behavior scale.Data compilation and analysis using SPSS 19.0 Chinese version of statistical software package, using frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation,t test,chi-square test, pearson correlation and multiple linear regression analysis statistical methods,P<0.05 indicates that differences mean statistical significance.Results:(1)The overall safety consent rate of patient with internship nursing students were 48%,and the consent rate of each dimension is less than 75%,but does not indicate a dominant field. In each dimension, the consent rate of "Organization learning and continuous improvement" is up to 66.3%,and the consent rate of the optimized region is "Procedure of hospital handover and transfer"(48.5%),"Hospital management support"(29.9%),"Openness of communication"(41.3%,)"Feedback and communication for errors"(41.3%),"Staffing"(37.1%),"Frequency of reporting adverse events "(34.7%),"Non-punitive response to mistakes"(32.4%).Whether the parents were medical staff and pre-job training included the patient safety culture knowledge was statistically significant in the of patient safety culture cognition(P<0.05).(2)The self-efficacy score of the internship nursing students were(25.41±5.21).There was a statistically significant difference in self-efficacy between the source place of students and the departments(P<0.05).(3)The safety behavior score of internship nursing students were(44.47±9.53).There was a statistically significant difference in safety behavior between gender, department, whether it was the only child, whether the parents were medical staff, and whether pre-job training included patient safety culture knowledge(P<0.05).(4)The safety culture cognition and self-efficacy of the internship nursing students were positively correlated(r=0.226,P<0.01),and positively correlated with safety behavior(r=0.620,P<0.01).Self-efficacy was positively correlated with safety behavior(r=0.200,P<0.01).(5)Whether the only child, gender and pre-job training included patient safety culture knowledge,self-efficacy and patient safety culture cognition were the influencing factors of safety behavior.Conclusion:(1)The overall consent rate of patient safety culture cognition of internship nursing students were low,The areas to be optimized are "Hospital handover and transfer procedures","Hospital management Support"," Openness of communication""Feedback and communication for errors","Staffing","Frequency of reporting adverse events","Non-punitive response to mistakes",which need to be improved.Parents who are non-medical staff and internship nursing students who have knowledge of patient safety culture in pre-job training have a better understanding of safety culture.(2)The self-efficacy of the internship nursing students were at the upper-middle level, and the source place of students in the towns and surgical departments are better in self-efficacy.(3)The safety behavior of nursing students were in the upper-middle level. The safety behaviors of the internship nursing students including the female students, the surgery, the non-only child, parents were non-medical staff, and the pre-job training including the patient safety culture are better(4)The patient safety culture cognition and safety behavior of the internship nursing students were positively correlated, and the self-efficacy and safety behavior were positively correlated.(5)The only child,gender,pre-job training, including patient safety culture knowledge,self-efficacy,and patient safety culture cognition are the influencing factors of the safety behavior of the internship nursing students.Among which the patient safety culture cognition has the greatest influence on internship nursing students in practice.
