Capers(Capparis Spinosa L.)is a kind of perennial vine small shrubs,Capparaceae, which is common in central Asia, the Mediterranean, the dry areas of western China regions such as the sand land. From cultural relics unearthed in activity area of Turpan Yanhai people 2800 years ago to Canon Of Medicine in the 11 th century all had showed the medicine and food history of capers.Capers contains more than 200 chemicals such as flavonoids and sulfide with a variety of biological activity. It was mainly used to treat a variety of joint pain disorders in clinic. The anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities of the medicinal parts and natural growth environment of Xinjiang native capers were studied in this paper.Headspace solid phase microextraction(HS-SPME),HPLC and other modern analysis techniques were adopted to analyse volatile composition, the efficacy of the anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity of chemical composition;compared studies of different regions, harvest seasons, medicinal parts(root bark, stem, leaf, fruit, flower and young fruit). The results showed such that:(1)The results indicated that oral and external application of the extracts from capers can significantly reduce the number of writhing response induced by intraperitoneal injection of glacial acetic acid and the degree of ear swelling induced by xylene in pharmacodynamic screening test in Kunming mice.Compared with control group, capers fruit extracts using water,30% ethanol,50% ethanol,90% ethanol,90% ethanol extracts of root bark were different to some extent, which further proved that the capers had anti-inflammatory analgesic effect.(2)Capers was widely distributed with high yield and good appearance in Turpan area comparing the various producers;Long times and intense sunlight, the cold winter and the hot summer, big gap of temperature between day and night, the lack of rain of the climatic conditions, gravel and clay cement and the solid texture of the soil type, which were suitable for the growth and reproduction of capers;Folk recognition higher cultural conditions,a long medicinal history, clinical application background in the traditional medical hospital, its reliable quality further identified that Turpan was the genuine areas of capers.(3)Capers contained more mustard oil and volatile components which had anti-inflammatory activity through the preliminary research of the task group.By contrasting growth periods of capers different fruit and different medicinal parts, volatile componentsfrom different regions, which was finded that the determination of volatile components can be done using the content of isothiocyanates as the evaluation standard. The volatile components in the fruit, root bark, leaf and other parts of the fruit were relatively stable containing a small amount of long chain fatty acid lipid, fatty alcohols, small molecule aromatic, small molecular alkaloids.etc, among them nearly mature fruits containing rich isothiocyanate lipid compounds had more development value.(4)The fruit quality differences from Xinjiang different habitats were discussed. The content of rutin was determined in the experiment of chemical composition of capers. The result showed that fruits coming from Toksun,Kashgar,ILI Black Hills,Turpan, contented higher rutin(0.05780%,0.03550%,0.02900%,0.03520% respectively),the differences should be closely related to the geographical environment and the harvest time of the medicinal herbs.
