Objective: In this study,we monitor the upper limbs short latency somatosensory evoked potential(SLSEP),and preliminarily observing the relationship between SLSEP and depression after acute frontotemporal ischemic stroke. To explore the clinical application values of SLSEP to the depression after acute frontotemporal ischemic stroke, looking for a reference index to assess the depression after acute frontotemporal ischemic stroke, and providing new thinking for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods: In this study,we selected patients who diagnosed acute frontotemporal ischemic stroke by MRI in the Department of neurology the first affiliated hospital of Bengbu medical college from December 2016 to December 2017,which meets the inclusion and exclusion criterias.Patients with acute frontotemporal ischemic stroke were divided into depression and non-depression groups by the Hamilton depression scale(HMAD)score, among which the depression group was divided into the light and moderate group and the severe depression group. The incubation period of N9,N13 and N20 of SLSEP in the depression group and the non-depression group was monitored within 14 days of admission. To observe the changes of SLSEP in patients with acute frontotemporal ischemic stroke and the depression after acute frontotemporal ischemic stroke,as well as the degree of depression in depression group was different from that of SELEP.Results:1.In this study,we completed a total of 40 cases, including 18 cases male patients and 22 cases female patients, age ranges from 47 to 79 years, the average age 57.67±10.14)years.2.Clinical observation found that the incidence of depression after acute frontotemporal ischemic stroke was 52.5%,the acute frontotemporal ischemic stroke group monitoring SLSEP N9,N13,N20 incubation period of abnormal rate of 15.7%,15.7% and 21% respectively; The latency abnormalities of N9,N13 and N20 in the post-stroke depression group of acute frontotemporal ischemic stroke were 14.2%,9.5% and 71.4%.3.The abnormal rate of the N9 incubation period of SLSEP was monitored by the depression group and the non-depression group, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The abnormal rate of the N13 incubation period of SLSEP was monitored by the depression group and the non-depression group, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The abnormal rate of the latent period of the N20 incubation period of SLSEP was monitored by the depression group and the non-depression group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.There was no significant difference between the N20 incubation period of the severe depression group and the N20 incubation period of the mild and moderate depression group(P> 0.05).Conclusion:1.The incidence of depression in acute frontotemporal ischemic stroke was higher in clinic. The incidence of related data was approximately 45%.2.The value of the N20 incubation period of SLSEP can be used as a reference index for the depression after acute frontotemporal ischemic stroke,so that early intervention and early prevention of it occurrence and development, generally improve the quality of life of depression after acute frontotemporal ischemic stroke patients and provide valuable clinical auxiliary diagnostic information for clinicians.3.The degree of the depression after acute frontotemporal ischemic stroke was not significantly associated with incubation period of N20.
