Etiological Constituent Analysis Of Secondary Amenorrhea In Inpatients Of A Third-class A Hospital In Xinjiang

Objective: To investigat and analyze the causes of secondary amenorrhea in women,to understand and master the common causes of secondary amenorrhea,and to provide reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment.Methods: Medical records from 975 women with amenorrhea who visited Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region People's Hospital,between January 2008 and December 2018 were retrospectively reviewed.Amenorrhea was categorized as either primary or secondary.Result: In 975 patients with secondary amenorrhea,the most common causes were polycystic ovary syndrome(45.3%,441/975),premature ovarian failure(13.2.0%,129/975),hyperprolactinemia(13.0%,127/975)and Sheehan syndrome(11.2%,112/975).Rare hypothalamic amenorrhea(4.10%,40/975),mainly functional hypothalamic amenorrhea,uterine amenorrhea(4.8%,47/975),mainly Asherman syndrome,a small part of unknown amenorrhea(4.8%,47/975),rare non-classical congenital adrenal cortical hyperplasia(1%,1/975)and reproductive outflow tract disorder(1%,1/975).Conclusion: In this retrospective study,polycystic ovary syndrome is the most common cause of secondary amenorrhea in women.Premature ovarian failure and pituitary amenorrhea are the common causes of amenorrhea.Functional hypothalamic amenorrhea(FHA)is rare.A few of the causes of amenorrhea are unknown,which may be related to incomplete medical history,laboratory examination and color Doppler ultrasound treatment.Few endocrine and outflow tract obstruction-related amenorrhea,such as non-classical congenital adrenocortical hyperplasia(CAH)and vaginal surgical adhesion obstruction.
