Effect Of The IMB Model Based Intervention On Memory Function Among Patients With Amnestic Mild Cognitive Impairment

ObjectivesTo explore the effects of the IMB model based intervention on memory function,amnestic mild cognitive impairment knowledge,behavioral memory training motivation,mini-mental state and the compliance of behavioral memory training among patients with amnestic mild cognitive impairment.MethodsOne hundred and four patients who met the inclusion criteria were selected as subjects from the community of Nanguan Community Health Service Center in Zhengzhou.The communities were divided into intervention group(52 cases)and control group(52 cases).In the intervention group,the memory function of patients with amnestic mild cognitive impairment was intervened based on IMB model:information support,individual motivation interview and group behavior memory skill intervention were conducted for 6 weeks.The control group was given the community routine nursing intervention.To evaluate the effects of memory intervention based on IMB model in patients with amnestic mild cognitive impairment on information support questionnaire,behavioral memory training motivation,rivermead behavioral memory test second edition and mini-mental state examination were assessed at pre-intervention,post-intervention and 2 months follow-up,and the compliance of behavioral memory training of intervention group was also evaluated at post-intervention.SPSS 21.0 is used as statistical analysis software.The methods include descriptive statistics,t test,chi-square test,Mann-Whitney U rank sum test and generalized estimation equation analysis.Results91 subjects completed the intervention,including 44 in the intervention group and 47 in the control group and the compliance of behavioral memory training in intervention group was 86.4%.1.Comparison of the scores of each index between the two groups at pre-intervention,post-intervention and 2 months follow-up(1)The total scores of rivermead behavior memory test(2nd edition),immediate recall story score,picture recognition score,appearance recognition score,recall reservation score,story delayed recall score and recall name score of the two groups were statistical significance pre-intervention,post-intervention and 2 months follow-up in inter-group effect,time effect and interaction effect(P<0.05).There were significant differences in group effect and time effect of recall items(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in interaction effect(P>0.05),and on the concrary,the items scores of spatial-temporal orientation,route delayed recall and letter delayed recall are statistical significance in interaction effect(P<0.05)in the comparison of pre-intervention,post-intervention with 2 months follow-up.(2)There were significant differences in the total scores of the amnestic mild cognitive impairment information questionnaire,the score of behavioral memory training motivation and the score of mini-mental state examination between the two groups in terms of group effect,time effect and interaction effect(P<0.05).2.Pairwise comparisons indicators at different time points pre-intervention and post-intervention and 2 months follow-up in intervention group(1)Compared with pre-intervention,the results of post-intervention and 2 months follow-up showed that the total scores of rivermead behavior memory test(2nd edition),immediate recall of stories,recognition of appearance,recall reservation and delayed recall of stories were significantly increased(P<0.01),and the total scores of amnestic mild cognitive impairment information questionnaire and its dimensions,behavioral memory training motivation and mini-mental state examination were significantly increased(P<0.05).(2)Compared with post-intervention,the results of two months follow-up showed that the total scores of rivermead behavior memory test(2nd edition),recognition of appearance,delayed recall of story,recall of objects hidden,and amnestic mild cognitive impairment information questionnaire and its dimensions were all reduced(P<0.05),but there were no statistical significance in the scores of behavioral memory training motivation and mini-mental state examination(P>0.05).Conclusion(1)Memory function intervention based on IMB model in patients with amnestic mild cognitive impairment can correct their misunderstanding of their own symptoms,improve their behavioral memory ability and health awareness of dementia prevention,and improve their overall cognitive function;although the continuation effect of intervention is not obvious,it is still higher than the level of pre-intervention.(2)The memory function intervention based on IMB model can stimulate the patients’interest in memory training.The behavior memory training has high compliance,is economical and applicable,and can be popularized in the community.
