PurposeThis study compared the serum levels of TNF-? and IL-6 in 123 patients with active AS and 35 patients with remission AS and 45 patients with active AS.The clinical significance of serum-TNF-? and IL-6 in patients with AS was investigated.Method1.A total of 158 patients with ankylosing spondylitis who were admitted to the Depanrtment of Rheumatology and Immunology of Southern Hospital of Southern Medical University from September 2018 to September 2019 were enrolled.According to the ASDAS score, they were divided into active group(123 cases)and remission group(35 cases).45 cases of AS were compared before and after treatment.Collect and analyze the general data, initial symptoms, affected peripheral joints and laboratory examinations, imaging examinations, etc.,and conduct statistical analysis on these data to compare serum TNF-? and IL-6 levels in active and remission patients. The difference.Furthermore, the correlation between serum TNF-? and IL-6 and ASDAS scores and serum immunological indexes in AS patients was analyzed.2.Statistical processing:The analysis was performed using SPSS22.0 statistical software. The measurement data are expressed as mean±standard deviation(X±s),the count data is expressed as a percentage(%),the variance is the same as the independent sample t test, and the variance is the non-parametric test of two independent samples(Mann-Whitney U Test);correlation comparison using Speraman correlation analysis.P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.ResultSerum IL-6 levels in the active group were higher than those in the remission group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in serum TNF-? levels between the active group and the remission group(P>0.05),ie there was no difference in serum TNF-? levels between the two groups.Serum IL-6 levels were positively correlated with ASDAS-CRP(P<0.01),and serum TNF-? levels were not associated with ASDAS-CRP(P>0.05).The ASDAS scores of 45 patients with active AS decreased after treatment. Before and after treatment, serum TNF-? levels did not change significantly(P>0.05),serum IL-6 levels decreased(P<0.05)ConclusionSerum IL-6 levels in AS patients can be used as indicators to assess disease activity, suggesting that it may be a pathogenic cytokine, and serum TNF-? levels are not associated with disease activity.
