Objcetive: The purpose of this study was to investigate the safety and efficacy of arthroscope-assisted reduction and internal fixation in the treatment of Schatzker ? and ? fractures of tibial plateau. Methods: Aretrospective analysis of 48 patients, who were diagnosed as a tibial plateau of Schatzker ? and ? fractures in our hospital. All patients were underwent preoperative x-ray and CT;MRI was performed in patients with suspicious knee joint structures. All patients were divided into two groups,of which 25 were included in the arthroscopy group and the remaining 23 were included in the traditional incision group. All patients were followed up for at least 6-10 months with an average follow-up of 7.5 months. The operation time, incision length, blood loss, postoperative drainage,HSS knee function score and maximum knee mobility were recorded. Results: 25 patients compared to surgical incisions, blood loss, postoperative drainage respect to the control group,a statistically significant difference(P <0.05);observation showed that short slits having a group, less bleeding, drainage. The difference was not statistically significant(P> 0.05),was observed in the group is not less than the control operation time set in the operation time.At the sixth month of follow-up,1 patient was lost of theobservation group and 2 patients were lost of the control group. The difference between the HSS score and the maximum knee mobility was statistically significant(P<0.05).The patient's knee function recovery was better.Conclsion:Arthroscopic assisted treatment of Schatzker ? and ? fractures of tibial plateau, which not only could provide satisfactory reduction and stable fixation;but also can treat the soft tissue injury in the joint synchronously. On the other hand, the recent functional recovery of the knee joint is better, which with short incision, less bleeding and less postoperative drainage. Therefore, arthroscopy is a safe and effective auxiliary tool for the treatment of tibial plateau fractures.
