ObjectiveTo understand the situation of the sexual characteristics, condom use and its determinants in the last six months among human inmmunodeficiency virus(HIV)positives who is receiving antiviral treatment in a city.MethodsA face to face interview was conducted among human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)positives who is receiving antiviral treatment in a city by using questionnaires to collect the information on their demographic characteristics, knowledge and sexual behaviors of AIDS,and access to AIDS services, include relevant information about access to and use of condoms.Chi-square test or Fisher’s exact test was used to identify the single factors for the situation of condom use.Unconditional binary logistic regression model were used to analyze the influencing factors of persistent condom use,the OR(95%CI)value was calculated, and P<0.05 was statistically significant.ResultsDemographic and behavioral characteristics:Out of 243 detected as HIV infections, the median age of the subjects was 36.8 years old,89.7%(218/243)were men,52.7%(128/243)were married,63.0%(153/243)were high school or secondary school or above, and 90.1%(219/243)were registered in the province. The monthly economic income greater than or equal to 3,000 yuan accounts for 63.8%(155/243).The AIDS knowledge awareness rate is 77.0%(187/243).56.0%(136/243)had sexual acts in the last six months,70.6%(96/136)insisted on condom use;24.3%(33/136)experienced homosexual sex,66.7%(22/33)insisted on condom use;31.6%(43/136)experienced multiple sex,55.8%(24/43)insisted on condom use;11.8%(16/136)had commercial sexual acts,53.7%(73/136)had had more than two partners,60.3%(82/136)did not disclose their status to all their sex partners. The infection rate of past or present sexually transmitted diseases is 8.4%(25/136).There are 68 HIV single-yang families, and 79.4%(54/68)insisted on condom use.Factors influencing adherence to condom use.Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that factors affecting consistent condom use are other cities treated locally[OR=0,135(95%CI:0.036~0.514)],considering that received ARV treatment requires condom use[OR=0.023(95%CI:0.036~0.514)],homosexual sex[OR=4.569(95%CI:1.266~16.494)],bisexual sex[OR=4.428(95%CI:1.305~15.022)],2 to 3 sex partners[OR=3.189(95%CI:1.026~9.914)],4 or more sex partners[OR=8.633(95%CI:1.180~63.150)],considering that both are HIV-positive does not require condom use[OR=4.428(95%CI:1.305~15.022)],The results of Multifactorial analysis of condom use in same-sex sex in the last 6 months showed that other cities treated locally[OR=0.089(95%CI:0.016~0.484)],considering that both are HIV-positive does not require condom use[OR=8.263(95%CI:1.123~60.824)]are factors affecting consistent condom. Conclusions and recommendations1.HIV patients receiving ARV treatment have dangerous behaviors such as unprotected sex, commercial sex, homosexual sex, multiple sex partners,non-informed sex partners, and sexually transmitted infections.2.The factors that affect HIV-infected people who are undergoing ARV treatment and can not insist on each condom use are mainly same-sex and bisexual sex, multiple partners, and the belief that both are HIV-positive and do not need to use condoms.3.Suggestion:In follow-up management,in addition to providing comprehensive services such as ART adherence education,it is important to fully understand the recent sexual behavior of the PLHIV on ART,and to timely promote behavioal change accordingly.Futhermore, even if the viral load once reaches to undetectable level,it doesn’t mean that it could sustain on all the time without unexpected changes. Therefore,it is essential to test viral load regularly and to use condom consistently if needed in reducing the possibility of secondary transmission.
