| Objectives:Cracked teeth are one of the main causes of tooth extraction,In clinical practice, early detection and restoration will improve the retention rate of the cracked teeth. The purpose of this study is to provide a reference for the selection of heat-pressed ceramic onlays for cracked teeth by investigating the clinical effect of the full-covering E-max heat-pressed ceramic onlay on the occlusal cusp. Methods:This study involved 28 patients in the Department of Endodontics and Prevention of the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Nanchang University. They all had occlusion discomfort and were diagnosed with cracked teeth from march 2017 to February 2018.Other symptoms include: long-term occlusion discomfort, positive gentian violet reaction, and tenderness to lateral percussion. The patients didn’t had other endogenous dental pulp lesion. After informed consent,28 patients received E-max heat-pressed ceramic onlay restorations, including 22 vital teeth and 6 teeth diagnosed with irreversible pulpitis or periapical periodontitis. The restoration effect was scored using the standard of the United States Public Health Organization(USPHS)at the 1st week,6th month and 12 th month after restoration installation.Integrity, marginal discoloration, secondary caries, surface texture, marginal integrity and proximal contact of heat-pressed ceramic onlays were also analyzed statistically.Results:1.After 12 months of follow-up,there are 1 case of porcelain collapse,2 cases of poor marginal integrity and marginal discoloration, and 2 cases of mild surface texture.2.Statistical analysis found that there was no significant difference in the aforementioned aspects. Conclusion:The study found that the short-term clinical effect of E-max heat-pressed ceramic onlay in repairing the cracked teeth is good.It can effectively relieve the occlusion discomfort and prevent the crack from continuing to deepen, but the long-term clinical effect needs to be observed. |
