Effect Of Meridian-by-meridian Governor Meridian Moxibustion Therapy On AS Of Kidney Deficiency And Governor Meridian Cold Type

Objective:The research topics is to use the self-made and patented automatic moxibustion machine on treating ankylosing spondylitis(AS)of kidney deficiency and governor meridian cold type.Through the study,in the wish of looking for an effective external therapies in Chinese Medicine to benefit patients and improve the patients quality of life.Methods:The study choose the sixty AS patients that selected from rheumatology outpatient or in-patient department.Using the method of simple randomization,divided the patients into two groups randomly.Treatment group was treated with self-made automatic moxibustion machine for meridian-by-meridian moxibustion on governor meridian.Control group was treated with traditional moxibustion box and traditional moxibustion on governor meridian.Two groups were treated once a day for the first three days.Then the rest nine times were treated every other day.Total 12 times,and 21 days for a course of treatment.After a course of treatment,taking a break for 7days.Finally,evaluate the effect of treatment after finishing three course of treatment.The observation and treatment period last 12 weeks.According to The traditional Chinese medical syndrome score,disease activity index ASDAS-CRP and CRP?ESR of the two groups were compared between treatment before and after as main observation indicators.Follow up with the patients recording the ESR?CRP?ASDAS-CRP and TCM syndrome integral to evaluate the effects of two treatments on patients.Results:1.Baseline data comparison:There were no significant differences in demographic baseline data(age,sex)and clinical baseline data(scores and total scores of TCM symptoms,ASDAS-CRP scores,ESR and CRP)between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05),indicating that the two groups were comparable.2.Comparison of TCM syndrome scores:After treatment,the scores of TCM symptoms(lumbosacral symptoms,early morning stiffness,cold limbs,aversion to wind and cold,psychiatric symptoms)and total scores of the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),indicating that both the meridian-by-meridian moxibustion on governor meridian and traditional moxibustion on governor meridian can effectively improve TCM symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis patients.Compared with the control group,there were significant differences in limb cold,aversion to wind and cold syndrome and total score of TCM symptoms in the treatment group after treatment(P<0.05),but no significant differences in lumbosacral symptoms,early morning stiffness and psychiatric symptoms between the two groups(P>0.05).It indicated that the meridian-by-meridian moxibustion on governor meridian was more effective than traditional moxibustion on governor meridian in improving cold limbs and aversion to wind and cold symptoms.3.Comparison of curative effect:After treatment,the total effective rate of the treatment group was 90%,and that of the control group was 63.3%.There was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05),indicating that the therapeutic effect of meridian-by-meridian moxibustion on governor meridian was better than that of traditional moxibustion on governor meridian.4.Inflammation index comparison:After treatment,ESR and CRP in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),and the decline levels of ESR and CRP in treatment group were significantly higher than those in control group,indicating that both meridian-by-meridian moxibustion on governor meridian and traditional moxibustion on governor meridian can significantly reduce the level of inflammation,while meridian-by-meridian moxibustion on governor meridian is more effective than traditional moxibustion on governor meridian.5.Comparison of ASDAS-CRP scores:After treatment,ASDAS-CRP scores in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),and the ASDAS-CRP scores in treatment group were significantly lower than those in control group,indicating that both the meridian-by-meridian moxibustion on governor meridian and traditional moxibustion on governor meridian can significantly reduce disease activity and the probability of disease recurrence,while meridian-by-meridian moxibustion on governor meridian is better than traditional moxibustion on governor meridian.6.Safety comparison:Through the period of treatment and follow-up observation,the safety of the two groups were 100%,there was no significant difference(P>0.05),indicating that the two treatment methods were safe and reliable.Conclusion:?The Artemisia argyi itself has the effect of warming channel and expelling cold.Especially aiming at the patients to AS of kidney deficiency and governor meridian cold type.?Meridian-by-meridian governor meridian moxibustion therapy can improve the patients syndrome obviously,in the meantime,it also improve clinical efficacy and compliance.It is also safety.So it is necessary to be widely used in clinic.
