| Objective:Via prescription for spasm and pain relieving,this dissertation involves clinical study on remedy of Diarrhea-Type irritable bowel syndrome of liver depression and spleen deficiency.To be specific,present study starts with observing the performance of prescription for spasm and pain relieving on patients' clinical symptoms,so as to reach objective evaluation on clinical efficacy and safety of spasm and pain relieving prescription,provide new insight into clinical usage of traditional Chinese medicine on IBS of Diarrhea-Type and,in long run,boost the efficacy of Diarrhea-Type IBS.Methods : First of all,outpatients of Spleen and Stomach Clinic in Shanxi Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital were taken as study objects.As per relevant inclusion criteria,120 cases were selected and randomly divided into two groups of 60,with one group been given treatment and the other been used as control group.In detail,outpatients in the treatment group were given theoretical and clinical prescription for spasm and pain relieving,herein,the Chinese medicine consists of Codonopsis Pilosula(15g),Radices Paeoniae Alba(15g),Semen Litchi(15g),Root of Fangfeng(10g),Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae Viride(15g),Cinnamomum Cassia(10g),Aspongopus(6g),Root of Kudzu Vine(15g),Pericarpium Zanthoxyli(5g),Cortex Granati(15g),Root of Three-nerved Spicebush(15g)and Radices Saussureae(15g),which are decoction-free granule of traditional Chinese herbs provided by Jiangyin Tianjiang Pharmaceutical Co..In contrast,Chinese patent medicine-Tongxiening Granule(manufactured by Chongqing Huasen Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd.and composed of Radices Paeoniae Alba,Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae Viride,Allii Macrostemi Bulbus and Bighead Atractylodes Rhizome),were given to the outpatients in control group.As regards the medication method,one dose of prescription for spasm and pain relieving was given to outpatients in treatment group per day,specifically,lukewarm boiled water(400 ml)was added and taken in equivalent dosages(200 ml each time in the morning and evening).In comparison,outpatients in the control group were instructed to take Tongxiening Granule of 5 grams each time(take orally,three times a day).Simultaneously,surveillance of vital signs and routine examination were conducted to outpatients in both treatment group and control group before and after treatment.The whole course of treatment lasts for 4 weeks,whilst variations in individual symptom integral calculus and other indicators of outpatients in both groups are monitored before and after treatment,then data obtained were subjected to statistical treatment for assessment of efficacy.After the treatment course,outpatients in both groups were visited randomly within two months to keep track of the recurrence rate.Results : 1.Comparison of overall efficacy,effective rate of the treatment group reaches 90% and that of the control group arrives at 78.3%,indicating that the efficacy of prescription for spasm and pain relieving is significantly superior to the one of Tongxiening Granule(p < 0.01).2.Comparison of TCM syndrome,effective rate of the treatment group amounts to91.7% and that of the control group represents 76.7%,showing that the efficacy of prescription for spasm and pain relieving is way higher than the one of Tongxiening Granule(p < 0.01).3.Comparison of individual symptom integral calculus,the performance of treatment group in symptoms such as abdominal distension,irritability,appetite loss,bowel sounding,depression,etc,is much better than those of the control group(p < 0.05),so does the efficacy in improving aspects of fecal characteristics,abdominal pain and frequency of defecation(p < 0.01),however,no significant difference in efficacy of belching treatment is observed between the treatment group and the control group(p > 0.05).4.Comparison of recurrence rate within 2 months,the recurrence rate of Tongxiening Granule group reaches 30.6%,yet that of the prescription for spasm and pain relieving group is considerably lower(8.5%,p < 0.01).Conclusion:Prescription for spasm and pain relieving shows remarkable clinical efficacy in remedying Diarrhea-Type irritable bowel syndrome of liver depression and spleen deficiency,since it significantly betters the clinical symptoms of IBS-D patients with liver depression and spleen deficiency,giving rise to the conclusion that prescription for spasm and pain relieving,in clinical term,is much better,safer and worth-popularizing than Tongxiening Granule in treating Diarrhea-Type irritable bowel syndrome of liver depression and spleen deficiency. |
