| Public stigma of depression is widespread in different countries and regions.Public stigma is a huge challenge for victims of depression.Even in many cases, the consequences of public stigma are worse than depression itself.Public stigmatization can deprive victims of depression of a large number of legitimate opportunities and social exclusion. In addition, public stigma can turn into self-stigmatization in some cases. When depression patients shift public stigmatized attitudes to themselves,it may prevent them from seeking professional treatment, affecting the patient’s treatment compliance, can even cause themselves to commit suicide. Therefore, many countries and regions are exploring effective ways to reduce public stigma in depression.Among them, exposure has been shown to be effective in reducing implicit and explicit stigmatization of mental diseases, and Implicit attitude feedback will further increase the effect of exposure intervention. However, most of these studies are interference with the stigma of overall mental illness, and all of which come from abroad. Therefore,it is necessary to explore the effects of video exposure and implicit attitude feedback on implicit and explicit stigma in depression.Accurate assessment of the stigma of depression is the basis of stigma intervention, but there are some deficiencies in the measurement of implicit stigma in depression. To evaluate effectively the intervention effect of implicit attitude feedback and video exposure on explicit stigma and implicit stigma in depression,In this paper,we first compile three independent SC-IAT programs:Cognitive Evaluation of SC-IAT,Affective response SC-IAT,Behavioral tendency SC-IAT and the corresponding semantic difference scale, and SC-IAT and semantic difference scale were used to investigate the implicit and explicit stigmatization in two colleges and universities in Wuhan. The results of the first study showed that SC-IAT and semantic difference scale can effectively measure the implicit stigma and explicit stigma of college students with depression. In terms of implicit stigma, college students have negative implicit cognitive evaluation, implicit emotional response and implicit behavior tendency to depression patients. In terms of explicit stigma, college students have negative explicit cognitive evaluation of depression patients.Based on SC-IAT implicit Measurement tools and semantic difference scale in first stduy In the second study,106 college students from two universities in Wuhan were selected as subjects to investigate the intervention effects of video-based contact, implicit attitude feedback and video-based contact implicit attitude feedback on the implicit and explicit stigma of depression among college students. The second study 4(4 experimental conditions)*3(pre-test,post-test,1-month follow-up)mixed variance results show:(1)in terms of explicit stigma, implicit attitude feedback with video-based contact significantly reduced college students’explicit cognitive evaluation, emotional response and behavioral tendency to depression patients.Video-based contact significantly reduced college students’ explicit cognitive evaluation and emotional response to depression; After 1-month,implicit attitude feedback with video-based contact and video-based contact significantly better than control at cognitive evaluation and behavioral tendency.(2)on implicit stigma,video-based contact and implicit attitude feedback with video-based contact significantly reduced the tendency of college students to negative implicit cognitive, implicit emotion, implicit behavior to depression patients, and implicit attitude feedback significantly reduced implicit cognitive evaluation and implicit affective response. After 1-month,the implicit attitude feedback group, implicit attitude feedback with video-based contact group college students held significantly fewer implicit emotion, implicit behavior to depression patients than control;video-based contact group college students held significantly fewer implicit cognitive evaluation, implicit emotion to depression patients than control.(3)there were differences in the influence of different intervention methods on the external stigma and implicit stigma of depression. In terms of explicit stigma, implicit attitude feedback with video-based contact,video-based contact intervention external cognitive evaluation, explicit emotional response, behavioral orientation intervention effect is better than implicit attitude feedback group. After 1-month,implicit attitude feedback with video-based contact significantly better than the implicit attitude feedback group at cognitive evaluation and behavioral tendency.Video-based contact better than the implicit attitude feedback group at all of explicit stigma. There was no significant difference in the effect of different intervention methods on implicit stigma. |
