Effect Of Ginger-partitioned Moxibustion Combined With Acupuncture Therapy On Functional Diarrhea Patients With Spleen Yang Deficiency

ObjectiveIn order to verify the basis and reference in treating Functional Diarrhea(F-D),F-D patients whose TCM syndromes were deficiency of spleen yang were observed by defecating frequency,property and TCM symptom in order to compare the clinical efficacy between the basis of routine acupuncture therapy and ginger-partitioned moxibustion with acupuncture therapy.Methods1.Sixty F-D patients with deficiency of spleen yang syndromes were divided into two groups randomly with the proportion of 1:1.There are 57 patients finished the therapy,including 29 cases of the control group and 28 cases of the test group.2.The control group had only the routine acupuncture therapy which we puncture the acupoints for 30 minutes with reinforce method every 15 minutes.The test group had ginger-partitioned moxibustion with acupuncture therapy.Choose CV4,CV8 and S25 as moxibustion points,daub Wanhua oil,put ginger slices and moxi cone on points.Ignite and keep the cone until the patient cannot stand the heat.Repeat 3 times on each moxi point as one treatment.Both groups were carried out twice a week for 3 weeks totally.3.Filled the symptom quantify score tables,IBS-QOL tables by therapists before and after treatment.Use SPSS 22.0 to stats the clinical efficacy.Results1.No statistically significance was found between the control group and the test group in general circumstances and disease conditions(P<0.05).2.Every TCM syndrome score of both sides can be decreased.The result of the test group especially in aversion of cold performs better than control group.The difference is statistically significant(P<0.05).3.The quality-of-life score can be improved by both therapy,meanwhile test group shows better score than control group.Statistically significant difference was found between two groups(P<0.05).4.Judging by improvement of syndrome and symptom,the effective rate of test group is 85.71%while control group is 68.97%.The difference of the effective rate was statistically significant(P<0.05).ConclusionCompare the ginger-partitioned moxibustion with acupuncture therapy with the routine acupuncture therapy,the former therapy is more effective in improve the syndrome,symptom and quality of life of F-D patients in deficiency of spleen yang.
