Objective To explore the application of self-made video on cognition and skill of pressure injury(PI)for caregivers in medical institutions on the basis of routine training,to observe its effect on terms of the general self-efficacy of caregivers in taking care of patients with PI,the PI risk factors and the wound healing state of patients with PI.Methods1.By adopting the purposive sampling method,73 cases of caregivers,5 cases were lost to follow-up,that in medical institutions and patients with PI under the care of them were selected from the geriatric department of a third-grade a hospital in Wuhan, and corresponding to the control group and the observation group respectively according to the random numbers selected by the caregivers.2.The sample size of the control group were 34 pairs, and the caregivers in the control group were given the routine training, and the sample size of the observation group were 34 pairs, and the caregivers in the observation group received PI video training besides on the basis.3.Before and after the implementation of the training program, the general self-efficacy scale was used to evaluate the effect of those two groups of the caregivers. The Braden scale and the scale of wound healing state(DESIGN-R scale)of patients with PI were evaluated.4.Medical statistical software of SPSS19.0 was used for statistical analysis.Results1.Baseline data(1)The baseline data of the caregivers and patients with PI in the observation group and the control group were statistically analyzed. The results showed that two groups of the caregivers in age, gender, education level, etc, two groups of patients with PI in age, sex, complications, etc were no statistically significant difference, with P> 0.05,which were comparable.(2)Before the implementation of training programs, the scores of observation group and control group in general self-efficacy scale were compared, the scores of Braden scale and DESIGN-R of two groups patients with PI were compared, the results show that there were no statistically significant difference, all P > 0.05,which was comparable.2.Evaluation indexe of the caregivers General self-efficacy of caregivers in both groups were all improved, and the improvement of general self-efficacy of caregivers in the observation group was better than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P < 0.05).2.Evaluation inde of the patients(1)Braden scores: Braden score of patients in the observation group was higher than the control group, and Braden scores of patients with PI in both groups were all increased, which means that the PI risk factors in the observation group was lower than the control group, and PI risk factors of patients with PI in both groups were all reduced, and the differences were statistically significant(P < 0.05).improved(2)DESIGN-R scores: DESIGN-R score in the observation group was lower than that the control group, and DESIGN-R scores of patients with PI in both groups were all reduced, which means that the wound healing state in the observation group was better than the control group, and the wound healing state of patients with PI in both groups all improved, and the differences were statistically significant(P < 0.05).Conclusion1.After the adoption of PI video training for caregivers in medical institutions,it is beneficial to improve the general self-efficacy of caregivers in taking care of PI patients;2.After the adoption of PI video training for caregivers in medical institutions,it is beneficial to reduce the PI risk factors of the PI patients under the care of caregivers;3.After the adoption of PI video training for caregivers in medical institutions,it is beneficial to improve the wound healing state of PI patients under the care of caregivers.
